Slipping Clutch
Discussion
Its Done it a handful of times now and in 4th the clutch sometimes slips. It is a mardigra clutch and has only covered around 18k.
The car sat around for approx 2yrs so it has been suggested that maybe it has taken on some moisture (Hydroscopic).
So I have a few questions:
Can the clutch be adjusted to be tighter?
If I change the fluid then how do I do it and what do I use to replace the fluid.
Bondy

Flushing the fluid is the same as bleeding it... Bondy
1. add tube to bleed nipple on clutch slave cylinder, have tube dump to a bottle to catch fluid
2. have a helper push clutch pedal in, while you open the bleeder on slave cylinder
3. close bleeder
4. add brake fluid (I've used motul) to clutch reservoir
5. Repeat until fluid is clean.
Better option:
You can also use a baster to remove the old fluid out of the reservoir, clean the reservoir with a rag, then add new fluid. This will speed up the process quite a bit, but you would still have to bleed it, using the above process.
Bleeding the clutch won't help if the clutch is slipping - it helps if the clutch isn't fully disengaging, or if the pedal is soft. Slipping clutch is usually something to do with the friction surfaces or pressure plate tension...
Any good brake fluid will do the job. I usually use a good DOT 4 or 5.1 fluid, like Motul, ATE, AP Racing, Castrol, etc. - basically, the same stuff I use in the braking system.

Interesting, a noble friend said the same happened to him and bleeding fluid fixed it. Any good brake fluid will do the job. I usually use a good DOT 4 or 5.1 fluid, like Motul, ATE, AP Racing, Castrol, etc. - basically, the same stuff I use in the braking system.
If it's taken on moisture from sitting around for a couple of years could this not effect it?
My clutch has done 21k miles and started slipping in 6th, then 5th as well and towards the end of last year 4th, 5th and 6th. I pulled the engine and box and when I removed the clutch there was loads of meat still on it. Running roughly 400/400, could it be that your clutch just isn't up to the job with the torque you have, like mine?

I don't use full boost and car was mapped to keep torque to around 400. Clutch is good for 430 I believe. Never had an issue before. Careful using the AP racing brake fluid it made my clutch very heavy , Jetstream recommended Comma dot 5 which made quite a difference and much nicer .
Sounds like the pressure plate has lost its clamping pressure , you could try bleeding up ect but ultimately it will probably need replacing .

Do u mean Dot 5.1 and how much will I need?Sounds like the pressure plate has lost its clamping pressure , you could try bleeding up ect but ultimately it will probably need replacing .
