If memory serves, several of you have done standing mile events with your Nobles. I plan to run my first in a few months and I'm wondering about aero.

Did you remove the splitter?

Remove the wing?

Adjust coilovers for nose down profile?

Or just put good gas in it and run it?

Hi Jeff,

I ran 5mm of rake, for an M400 this is about right anyway. I tried with and without the standard rear wing, It didn't make much of a difference. but I am running about 50/50 aero balance so the cannards, much larger splitter and other bits and pieces probably just push the front of the car down, The standard configuration M400 was fairly nervous over 160 mph at Bruntingthorpe, it has a lot of tarmac joins and repairs, the higher front downforce inspired much more confidence. I got 174 on an airfield at ¾ mile and 197 at the mile at Bruntingthorpe using the loop,on an 8k limiter, if we had run larger tyres it may have gone a bit quicker.

From memory in the wind tunnel tests the standard wing doesn't produce huge amounts of drag, the rest of the car would need tidying up before the wing became a huge issue, the largest amount of drag and lift was produced by the poor sealing between the front clam and the scuttle, we confirmed thee on two cars.
