Bits turned up to do wheel bearing so jumped into Noble to take to my mechanic.... bloody thing wont start!!....battery fully charged , Fuel pump primes up but when I turn the key all I can hear in the engine compartment is a clicking noise?
My thoughts are starter motor jammed? ...and not in a place that I can try bump start it!
Ive had a quick look as it was raining but is the starter easy to get at or any other idears before I ring the RAC... thanx

If you have a 6-speed transmission, the starter is on the bell housing, over near the right rear edge of the gas tank. If you have a 5-speed, it's on top of the bell housing. For either transmission, the starter is held on with two bolts, and is connected to two wires. The big thick wire goes back to the starter relay or straight to the battery - be careful not to short it to anything when you disconnect it.

The most common cause that I've seen for the clicking noise is a flat battery - most of the time the battery has enough juice to run the fuel pump, dash lights, and the radio, but doesn't have enough juice to turn the engine over. Might want to have the battery load tested and fully charged.

Could also be the starter relay, if you have one in your car - worth checking it out!

Good luck!

Put it in gear and rock the car back and forth to make sure the starter cog isn't stuck on the flywheel.

Worst case, new starter motor. But normally you get some symptoms
