Think we found out what the rumberling noise was..... worn o/s rear wheel bearing so just wondering is it a case of knocking out the old one and pressing in the new one ??

You have to take the circlips off that hold the bearing in place . I would change the hub while I was at it .

The bearing is an E36 BMW 325 rear... £20 from G&S 2hrs to fit.

Check the uprights as early ones are prone to cracking, never changed any of my hubs as i have never had any issues with vibrations meaning mine were machined correctly (unlike a large number of them).

BMW 2.5 , Porsche boxster/996 etc etc... not aware of a ford bearing that fits but i know the BMW bearing fits the noble hubs.... different story if you have swopped the noble hubs to ford ones, then the ford bearing needs to be used.

The standard car doesn't use a stock ford hub or bearing.... However lots of people have replaced the hub and bearing with a ford unit as the noble hub was often poorly machined and caused vibration

As long as you buy both the ford hub and ford bearing you will be fine and it will fit.... The internal dimension of the hubs and bearings face differ, all other dimensions are identical.
