How much vacuum does your boost gauge read at idle on a 3.0L.

I think mine is about -0.5 bar

yep, -0.5 bar or so (I am 1700 meters in elevation (Denver Colorado USA))

I usually see between -0.71 to -0.68 bar at idle on the cars that I've worked on in the US. This is the reading from the MAP sensor, not the boost gauge in the dash. If you're trying to diagnose a problem, I'm not sure if the boost gauge is accurate enough - I'd either use the diagnostic software to see what the ecu is reading, or I'd hook up a my own gauge...
