Quite a bit of discussion on prices recently but the reality is very straight forward. There is one M12 for sale at £28k and one M400 at £48k and 6 adverts asking to buy. When I bought my Noble in 2010 there were probably 15 to 20 cars for sale at prices starting from less than £20k. Now there are two for sale on PH. If I were selling I would just add £10k to the asking price, when you are one of two for sale you make the market. It is true that you could buy a TVR which is similar but is actually in the end not the same and people in the end want and will pay for what they want, not something that is similar.

I have watched the classic car market for quite a lot of years and if you look at Testarossas (prices have doubled in two years) and the old Vanquish you can see how quickly prices move. The Noble is a very desirable, collectable and importantly drivable classic I would not be surprised if prices appreciate by 40% this year.

Just my opinion and mine is not for sale by the way.

Hear hear nice to see a voice of reason. Supply and demand and why not if a Mk1 Escort can ask £30k plus

I sold a high mileage red 355 gts 2.5 years ago to buy my 3r, now the Ferrari is worth double, the nob gets more attention, quicker and handles better plus more affordable to maintain/run. The whole package of a noble is truly epic, time will tell on prices but upwards is the only way imho!

The red 3R is staying with me, after a lot of soul searching and some wise words from an ex Noble owner I've decided to keep it for the time being smile

I had loads of interest and offers pretty close to the asking price which is really good for those of us on the owning side of the fence. I even had the trade offering £36k without haggling!

I agree that they will continue to rise, there is nothing out there at this level of performance and style. The marque is not too well known which will hold back the prices a little in my view. We could do with a few more M600's being produced to keep the brand in the public eye.

While being a longtime Porsche owner, I've lurked here. The only thing making me not buy a Noble has been the engine, I just don't like/want a turbo. Pity they don't come with a V6 NA that pushes out 300+ bhp ( or a Honda Engine ), or do they ? Chassis wise and looks wise and layout I think they are great.
One other factor holding me back is their heritage and recent history, Has the original maker ( Richard Noble ?) not turned his back on them ? As I've said a seemingly very intersting and attractive car .

I get the turbo thing. Generally I would have a turbo in my dd for flexibility and have a normally aspirated toy. However, there is always an exception to every rule and for me the noble is it. Drive one. If you're expecting lag or a lack of throttle response/consistency you'll be disappointed.

Did Lee noble turn his back or simply get bought out of his own company? Always thought it was the latter.

I agree the turbos are a major part of the car. The darth vader Top Gear thing is for real. I had a few issues with my car when I bought it but some fairly basic steps sorted these and it is now very reliable. Also no turbo lag and is mapped with a very wide power band.

I am convinced they are underpriced, there just isn't anything else out there for close to the money, I'd compare them to a Sagaris in terms of presence and scarcity, and look at those!

Thing to bear in mind is that we are the market - if we think they are underpriced we can do something about it, prices have definitely crept up since Q2 '15, but there's still a way to go to reach a balance of supply and demand

I just bought mine in October, although she has needed a little cleaning under the skin, to get her to my standard, she was a fair price but above what most owners paid in the last 5 years.
I am still happy that the prices will go up.
Within 2 years I would expect to see 3R's at 40k as a minimum.

Keep them clean and rust free and your on to a winner...... but the lack of available cars is due to owners not wanting to sell. Enthusiasts keep them long term.

I think it's down to who is looking to buy a noble.A few months ago there was a few for sale under 30 k GT03 and 3R and they did not sell. Most buyers will go for a porsche or tvr for practical reasons ,4 seats and a boot.I do hope these cars rise in value. But the market for these cars will dictate the price they sell for as any car.

I wondered what happened to the red 3r - i would have purchased it from you if it all checked out --- if you change your mind you have my phone and email @ yahoo

quality always sells the reason why the good ones get a premium is because some one has loved and cared for the car - unfortunately not everyone spends the time and money on the maintenance and it shows on nobles

eg if you bought a couple of years back a cheaper car and did nothing never maintained it properly it will not necessarily be worth anymore -- it will probably cost the increase in value to fix it up to the standard to get that top price

my guess as cash a buyer i would pay about 20-25 for 2.5 about35k for 3 and round 45k for m400 ---

its true about supply and demand at the moment theres actually about 3 cars for sale notice none actually selling for the asking price black 2.5 still available , previous 2.5 one didn't sell still available just not advertised .. and the ones through ebay never sold for the reserves either -- if china fall continues to hit uk - financial slow down will hit car prices - like all bubbles - they can burst and prices can go down sharply ... give it a few months reckon will be more up for sale and prices may be more stable and predictable -- i think as theres so few around now is the time to sell the prices will be higher than the summer when there will likely be more around anyone buying a good car will likely just be parking it up to the summer anyway. ?? But if i had a crystal ball i would have bought a countach when they were 40 - 50 k

by the way

I AM A CASH BUYER NO P/X NO FINANCE IF YOU WANT TO SELL A QUALITY CAR

My 3 'wish I could turn back time and had the money at the time' crystal ball moments.

5 years ago my favourite ferrari, 360 CS was £104k

5 years ago the best M3 CSL was £28k

3 years ago, Carrera GT was around £330k

Could have made a lot of money with all 3.

I could understand convertibles being more prevalent in the summer but why the noble?! If is historical then maybe I should wait until spring !

I thought pretty much any supercar/exotica sells cheaper over autumn/winter then prices start to creep up again early spring? Surely the time is now to buy if poss? General feedback atm surely is well sorted/maintained/upgraded Nobles are commanding strong money, surely prices are only going up? Mind you I would say that :-)

I think there is some truth in that, however for top money like anything in life they have to be solid cars with the right history. It's all about appeal, ferraris etc are well known and will always command a premium. Nobles are more specialist and hence do not have a ready made open market. If they get too expensive people will just move onto something else more modern and less of a headache. I prefer the potential headache and the associated romance.

When interest rates go up and money becomes more expensive we will see a change in attitude I'm sure but I'm hoping i don't have to wait that long!
