Hi all,

Over the past months I've been working on collecting a few bits to work on for the Noble over winter. In doing so I've come across many q's that I've put off to ask in one big go, far too many to remember infact! As such I thought i'd just start asking them as I go smile

1. My car came to me with no foglight (no idea how it got through mot like that) and the switch on the dash does nothing. What's the most common foglight solution? Presumably may be able to wire up one of the rear lights to fog - maybe to one of the reversing lights with a bright red led bulb? Also, any idea where the stock foglight wiring goes for me to try pick it up at the back of the car?

2. My radiator pipes rub on the chassis (and one wore a hole right through!) how do people avoid that? I did find a block of loose sponge like material on the front floor panel, surely that wasn't wedged holding the pipe away from the chassis?

3. The nut that my throttle cable P-clip bolts to has come out of the top of the inlet manifold, what's the best way of sticking it back in?

4. My passenger side window is tilted fully inwards (any more and it will push on the door carcas) but the top back edge of the window still doesn't meet the seal - any ideas what may be causing this? Only lets in a bit of rain now and then but annoying non the less smile

Sure there's more but can't remember off the top of my head smile

Cheers,
Alex

Ok here's a few answers:

1. The standard UK spec Mondeo light clusters have a fog light in both the LH and RH units so you should have bulbs fitted on both sides. The standard Noble loom has the fog light feed in it along with everything else. Do your various checks to see if you've got power in the relevant places and that the bulbs are ok. Come back here if you've had no success.

2. The rad hoses are regular 90deg bends that fit into aluminium pipes so loosening off the jubilee clips and manipulating their position should provide clearance. Failing that you could always use some sticky backed foam like door insulation under any parts you think may be close to rubbing. Would give you added piece of mind.

3. There shouldn't be much stress in that area so I'd suggest a decent two-pack adhesive would be enough.

4. It sounds like maybe either the window has popped out of a runner or the runner has come adrift from the door frame. Either way you'll need to take the door panel off and have a look around inside.

Thanks Rob smile

1. Didn't even think about the stock clusters having foglights, so used to Jap imports! Will check them out in that case smile

2. I've got a stack of Neoprene strips ready for the floor so may throw some where it rubbed anyway but makes sense what you're saying re trying to angle the pipe differently.

3. Good point about not much stress - just worried about the heat. Is two-pack adhesive the same as epoxy stuff?

4. Already had the inner trim off a few times to try and adjust it without any luck, don't think I could see anything visibly wrong... May have some photos on the phone, will take a look in a bit smile

Yeah that stuff, I was thinking something readily available like Araldite or whatever they have in Halfords/B&Q/etc. The inlet is plastic so something suitable for attaching to plastic will be fine and should do the trick I'd have thought.

Araldite will do it.
Turn you lights on full, you should have two squares illuminated on each light. Push the break and 1 square on each light should get brighter. The other square is the fog light on both lights.
(Maybe both come on with breaking but when fog light is on one of the stays illuminated?)

Maybe the bulb is blown or only a single fillement bulb has been fitted.

Think that's right?
