Porsche Cayman GT4...........hummmm
Discussion
Right opposite my office is Porsche Exeter and I've had to have a look at the new GT4. I'm not quite sold on the look, nice kit and very well stuck together, but I'm not sure it looks "special" enough from the front? to me it doesn't look aggressive enough.
With only 50 headed our way and with the stamp of approval from EVO car of the year 2015, those few that have acquired one are looking at a good investment by all accounts.
What say the Noblers, anyone tried one? I did my ARDS test in a Cayman S and it was a very capable car, test drove a new 911S and it was soleless. Tracked a mates older 911S at a Noble trackday at Silverstone and we were so disappointed he sold it the very next week!!
Is it me that just doesn't seem to connect to Porsche or have they turned a corner with the more hands-on GT4???

I must admit on paper the Cayman GT4 seems to be a very capable piece of kit, using some of the brake and suspension components from the GT3 RS and the motor from the Carrera S but fitted in the proper place ie in the middle. If I could keep the Noble as well I would be very tempted, and from an investment point of view surely a 'no brainer'.
There are about 7/8 of those GT4's in Aberdeen but I think there are actually closer to 100 already in the UK, I know 3 of the owners and will be looking after some (started a car storage business)
Having been in one I can say they are easily as appealing as most cars at 120k and I'd put money on them being one of the best new road cars to come along in years.
Porsche have said they are going to build more due to huge demand, if you can get one go for it but it'll be a lucky day as most dealers still have waiting lists in case it does happen.

Thats some markup from original spec price!!

This just goes to show what could've happened if the M500/600 was priced where Lee wanted it, there is a massive market for a more "hands-on" super-sports car at this sort of price range.
The report EVO put together was very good, they filmed in some place called Scotland, never heard of it myself!!

The interesting thing is the power debate and I think this affects our cars, they feel the Porsche hits the sweet spot with the power and something other Noble owners/races have alluded too, that more is not always best. 450-500bhp seems about the right balance for pace if you're not up for a "dick-swinging" contest
