Winter maintenance job 1 as my fuel gauge now only shows a full tank - how much of a PIA is this to do? Any tips?

If it's the sender unit in the tank at fault then means taking off the undertray & lowering / removing the fuel tank.

If it's a pita, then I'd try and check for a short to ground on the sender wire first. Could be trapped/chaffed somehwere.
Ignition off, pull connection from sender end if you can get to it and measure continuity to ground.

Thinking about it- pull wire off sensor, ignition on. If needle moves to full then it's a short in the snedr wire.
