We all hate it when people ask what the engine is or is it a Mondeo engine ! Happen to be looking for some specific details & came across this on Wikipedia -
The primary engineering input came from Porsche, who were developing a similar V6 before selling the engineering to Ford, and Cosworth helped with the cylinder heads.
So from now on it's a Porsche / Cosworth Unit 😉
Unfortunately your rear lights are Mondeo though - lol

Agreed, and the engine was modified by John Noble Motorsport and the map was from Rousch. After the Wheeler Dealer 4 x mentions that it's a Mondeo engine I've now given up. When next asked I will now respond "not sure, is it really? Which Ford was it fitted to again?"
If someone is politely enquiring I'll say 'it's bespoke but based on a Ford V6.'
If someone exclaims "what the hell is in that?!?!?" I reply 'just a Mondeo, why what's in yours?'

So Kev, given we have Cosworth internals in our engines are we now calling them a racing derived Cosworth V6?
Im going to rob the Cosworth badge from the rear of my Capri and put it on the Noble

I swear I read that the engine unit we have was from the USA Ford Taurus and not the Mondeo, but it seems they are all one of the same!!
Cosworth engine, developed by Porsche does sound somewhat more impressive!!!
I tend to embrace the fact it's a Mondeo engine. Lee didn't put it in ours cars because it was ste, and that has been proven. The engine in my old 2.5 was the most reliable part. 69,000 miles and not one failure. All the problems were ancillaries.
You don't hear people slagging off the GT40, RS200 or Sierra Cosworths. So what's wrong with a hot Mondeo?
