90 Degrees Vacum hose at the throttle body

The 90 degrees vacuum hose onto the vacuum port at the throttle body came off whilst on the motorway ( the one you shouldn't push on too far ) causing loss of power and not running properly . It happened after pulling away from 4th into 5th and hitting about 1 bar of boost . This is the fisrt time it's happened in five years of ownership . Does anyone know why it happens ? and do owners cable tie theirs ?

I cable tie mine just so it won't slip off the nipple. Had no problems.

mines never came off and I used to run 1.7bar a few years back... maybe they soften over time?

Might want to check for oil inside your intake manifold, especially if you have the stock breather setup that vents back into the intake hose... Also, clean the nipple and the rubber fitting with a degreaser before you put it back on.

Hi Jim , i've got the pro alloy oil separator / breather ? Is it a concern if there's oil in the intake manifold ? cheers

It all depends on quantity of oil - if there's just a thin misting, then everything is most likely ok. If there are puddles, then there's probably a problem. If a hose that has stayed in place for years all of a sudden starts popping off, one explanation may be that oil either made the nipple slippery, or is starting to degrade the rubber.
