Hi guys, having a rough time with the car. Had all the turbo rebuilds manifolds etc done after 5k! Now I smell fuel from the void in the arch where the pump is located but can't see any wetness, cap fits fine, breather pokes out the floor, is he pump a hard job? The starter is being a pig when hot, fine from cold looks hard to get out? Air con used to work clicks in and out for 20 second intervals which I believe is normal but hot as hell, could the dial be sticking? Any help would be really really appreciated! Joe

Hey

I can only comment on the 3.0i Fuel Pump but I doubt its in a different place
Really easy job, simple to do and not expensive. Had mine done and took less than an hour so don't worry on that.

Air con, again fairly simple. The internal dial is a tricky one that gets stuck and takes about 15 mins to correct and fix. If the actual motors gone like mine did then its a fairly expensive entire new motor box which wasn't cheap.

Starter motor, can't comment.

Thanks for your input here. Do you know if you have to drop the rear of the floor to get access to the fuel pump, or could it be done with the car on it's wheels?

Don't need to drop the floor, but easiest to take passenger side rear wheel off and wheel arch liner out.

You might find your air con issue is the hot water valve isn't shutting fully. It's in the tunnel and accessible through one of the louvred inspection panels. Worth making sure it's shut.

Not sure how easy the starter motor is.
