Thinking maybe a Noble
Discussion
I currently own a TVR Griffith 500 but have recently been finding myself looking in the classifieds at the lovely Noble's for sale. So thought I might ask you guy's for a few pointers as I know very little about the marque. Looks like I will need a minimum budget of 25k to bag a nice 2.5? How are values holding up at the moment, are they on the rise or still depreciating? Owning a TVR is not just about the cars but about the people and many events organised, so I have some reservations that I will miss this changing to a much rarer car? Any thoughts welcome.
I came from a Chimaera 500 to the Noble. A real step up in performance and handling.
The Noble gets noticed much more, and it's considerably rarer. Without fail, everyone appreciates the Noble both on the road and off. Some people consider TVR drivers to be a bit of a knob, but none of that with the Noble.
The main gatherings of Noble owners are for the annual (or bi-annual) track days. Some owners who don't even track their cars still turn up. You'll see approx 25 cars these days. Whilst we do meet up on other occasions it's rare to see more than 1/2 dozen cars together. Perhaps at a car show/convoy, Silverstone Classic, Le Mans Classic. However you'll probably find that you're still welcome at TVR meets, as we all appreciate bespoke British engineering.
Do your homework with model selection and upgradeable options. Some upgrades are essential, especially as our cars are over 10 years old now, and especially on 2.5 cars. And don't count on cheap running costs or improved reliability over the TVR (although the chassis doesn't rot). Hope that helps.
P.S. And I think Nobles reached the bottom of the depreciation curve about 5 years ago.

I nearly swapped my x5 for a Griffith 7 years ago wish I had of as the x5 lost money hand over fist, anyway finally got my noble for a steal, it's actually worth around 7k more than I payed for it now but having spent over 10k upgrading parts it's cost me a bit but I can't
complain really, it's a special car and
I've enjoyed the past 5 years of ownership and made some good friends along the way!
