Morning all, I've always liked Nobles but never seemed to buy one, but after a stint of other cars i now fancy having a look around at them again.
I'm going to see if i can test drive one locally first as i'm not too sure how big they are inside (I'm 6"3) so hoping i fit.

Quick question though, is there a noticable difference between the 3ltr and the 2.5 versions? - does mileage matter if the car has been well maintained?

Many thanks

Craig.

Welcome Scooby , there is a power difference obviously and the 3 litre engine is more tuneable than the 2.5 other than that they are both lovely engines !!
As with any car condition and owner enthusiasm is more important than milage !! Do not be scared of buying a car with upgrades there is a lot that can be improved on a std car !!!

I am 6ft 3in also ,maybe be it's just luck but the driving position is fine for me .There are plenty of mainstream cars I cannot get comfortable in the the Noble is better than some I have tried.

You won't struggle for leg room ,pedals are a tad close together and offset but you soon get used to that .I have done 150 miles trip non stop and it was fine.

There is an art to getting in and out which needs perfecting to keep your street cred.

I'm 6'4 and fit with no problems. I've done long journeys in the UK and a cross Europe and it's a comfortable car.
I fitted a removeable steering wheel boss which brings the wheel 2" nearer to me which makes the driving position great.
Where are you based? Happy to show you round my car.

Yeah condition rather than mileage, if you think about it compared with more "normal" cars, they're all low mileage. Knowing what I know now the "correct" upgrades and condition of the car would be way more important to me than mileage.

My 2.5 has no trouble keeping up with the big boys smile

I think the only upgrades that are a must are .
For safety
Fuel pump wiring upgrade.
New alloy breather tank to replace steel unit .
Hub nuts .
Track day sump !!

For performance .
Intercooler
Exhaust
Dampers
Hard pipe kit

The rest is mainly for fun biggrin

Again? I'm listing things I've had done here but I think most of these are common across the cars.

  • 2.5s had a weak diff, so a stronger quaife one is a good replacement
  • 400bhp+ start looking into gearbox strengthening / clutch upgrades
  • MBE ecu obviously (can't be many without this now?)
  • Fuel pump wiring
  • Track sump to prevent bottom end failure on track - matter of choice obviously if not going on track
  • floor refurbishment
  • intercooler and radiator - both standard items split in my ownership
  • Manifolds - either replaced or upgraded to stainless
  • Front Turbos need refurbishment every once in a while due to the heat and position
  • A lot of the wiring is [more] exposed to the elements [than in a normal car], I'm sure mine isn't the only one with some corrosion on connectors and such.
  • hub nuts
  • tunnel mod - not necessary but makes it a lot more bearable in summer months
  • Brake bias valve - mine locked the rears a bit early just after I bought it, so Dave fitted a valve to the brakes -less common, perhaps most came with it - you'd have to ask Jetstream?
Basically trying to bring the car up to M400 spec, we all know they were developed as they went along!

ETA: ah Tux has already been and gone!
