Hi Guys,

About 2 years ago was thinking of getting a Noble but the ones I looked at were not great and ended up down the Lotus route. I currently have a Exige S running around 320 bhp so quite a serious weapon but am becoming a little bored of Exiges in genral and really fancy change and for years I have loved the Noble M12 3r my misses is not a fan but she has given up caring now lol . I wanted to know if anyone has made a similar jump and whether they looked back?

I do a lot of A/b road driving and tend to do Dales/Wales type driving and an annual Euro hoon with a group of us, not massive on track day action if an honest. Its only going to be a weekend toy so dry miles only type stuff. Also my Exige has limited driver aids ABS and traction control how much more of an animal is the M12 to drive next to the Exige , driver training essential? as we can always improve.

Budget wise is really 30k am I going to be able to get a decent 3r for that money? or is it pipe dream stuff .. i found a black one on AT and looks to have a stack of work carried .. an engine rebuild is a little bit of a concern ? is that common for rebuilds to be required as am pretty sure from my last research that never popped up?

My one concern is that am not a man who is good with a spanner .. number yes spanners no frown, so am at the mercy of garages the one thing I have found with the Lotus I have had is they have been reliable so reliability is an important factor for me. Happy to service and do the normal routine maintenance work , just do not want constant small problems meaning I could not enjoy her when required. Further to this point anyone recommended in my area.

Is there any owner in the North WIlthsire/Cotswold area ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Paza
I made the move from and Exige S (only 220hp)and have never regretted it. The Noble is just like a grown up Exige in feel but is a much nicer place to be, you don't realize how cramped the Exige was in comparison and noise level is much lower without a supercharger sitting inches from your ear.Yes I have done a lot more spanner work on the Noble, some by choice, some necessity but nothing too difficult.

I was talking to a owner of an Exige S in wales the other week.

It looks like a great car I'm I'm sure it's loads of fun to drive, but it's too dam small.

I've got the luggage kit for my noble and on our weekend away we only used 3 of the 6 bags and that was only because her gingerness had about 15 pairs of shoes.

The ride and the ground clearance is awesome.

You should get one for 30k.
Jetstream are fantastic for service if your not into your spanners, everyone one in the owners club is super friendly.

What's not to like smile

I have both... the Noble is just bigger and better all round, but not always as reliable but if its had the usual mods and you don't use it on track, it should be quite reliable.

I don't even know what a spanner is!

Servicing is not too bad. I've had mine now for 8 years - been more reliable than my wife's ford focus.

The only problems I have had is when I got something changed and it needed tightening or something. A part from that never had a problem and I am on 45,000 miles.

I do look after it though. If something needs fixing or replacing I get it done immediately.
