Hi,

I took the interior light off and made a mount to fit to the screws it uses. What's handy is that there's also power there if you wanted to wire in a cigarette lighter socket and charge it while you were using it with the skeleton case.

I made it in about 20 mins in the workshop when I was at the 'ring last year, I'm sure a much more polished version could be made if you had the time. Decent mount for the lighter socket perhaps, less duct tape, carbon dipped etc. hehe

Good bit of driving there Chappers.

I had made a camera mount for the old style cameras many year ago so will just stick my GoPro to that.

It mounted to the harness points and followed the profile of the interior light.

laugh

I'm on track next Monday so might try something quick based on your idea. I've got the Ring and Spa in July so have time to come up with a neater solution. I prefer the viewpoint where you can see the driver too so it's perfect for me.

Only thing I noticed yesterday with having the goPro camera there is that the White balance gets upset and in a sunny day the track just looks white. Maybe there is a setting in the camera to improve this?

there is the "spot meter" setting, I think that does something. The newer GoPros are better at coping with changes in light, the earlier HD Hero 2 couldn't adjust once recording had started.

We discovered this while skiing, my friends Hero 3 and 3+ would make much better video in situations where mine was either massively over- or under-exposed.
