Just parked up for 10 minutes & now car won't start. Turn key, red lights come on & the usual sound you get, then straight off almost immediately. Dead. No turn over. Any ideas? Immobilisor?

Battery would be my first checkpoint: a) whether its got amps and b) whether the terminals are tight.

Thanks Rob, but I've got a funny feeling the battery & connections are good. You know when you turn the ignition & not press the button on the key fob? It's the same as that except when I press the fob, the ignition lights don't come on. Like the fob isn't turning off the immobiliser.

Hi,

Have you tried using the manual point for the imobiliser? I'm talking about the socket by your left knee.

Afair - key to position before cranking, and instead of clicking the blipper, hold the module next to the thingy by your knee. Are you actually broken down on the road now?

Good news, that did it! Thank you chaps. How good is this forum, eh?!
Now stage 2 of my journey, engine is off again, so let's hope it starts in an hour's time again.

Happy to help. Looks like changing the battery in your fob will sort it- though I'd have thought if the fob opens the doors it would have turned the imob off.

I wondered that but the red light is bright on the fob?
