Hello again, I have what appears to be pretty harsh wear on the front tyres (on the inside) - is this normal/expected on a Noble? Can any garage/tyre Depot with the right (alignment) equipment deal with this or is it more complicated for a car of this calibre? Many thanks!

I was hoping it might have given the impression that I should slow down!

Oh good - nothing to worry about - better still. Perhaps I will risk going a little faster!

Not sure as I have only just bought the car! I understand the principle of camber but how I can measure it or quantify it I have no idea. Is there a starting point (if so how do you know where it is?) and then you go plus or minus? I actually thought you needed some equipment to work it all out or is that just alignment? Sorry got an awful lot to learn.....

Camber is the tipping of the top of the wheel inwards to increase the tyre contact patch when cornering hard . Jetstream have a camber gauge , they could check it .

Thanks Tux - I need to have the wheels pointing outwards so I have more tyre contact as I poodle round the corners! I am in North Devon so access to the Noble network is difficult. I am off to Bespoke for a service in the next month - perhaps they have one. Otherwise would you trust any garage with one?

They are wearing indentically to my Grandads cars tyres! Am I synical but I am not sure I trust any tyre garages, they all seem to come up with excuses to up sell (which I get) but but do they do a perfect job knowing that a slightly miss aligned wheel means a tyre change sooner. On my every day car I have one garage re-align what the other one did and via versa...20,000 mile 6 tyres later and I drive in a straight line A5 to work and home!

Mine was exactly the same when I bought her and she drove like she was on ice skates. For some reason someone had set up a severe amount of toe-in, when really you want just the slightest touch of toe-out. I took her to Westover Lotus in Poole in Dorset who may not be too far from you. They did such a great job I can thoroughly recommend them. Address is West Quay Road, Poole, Dorset, BH15 1JF.

I run some toe in on the front to warm the front tyres but my road setup was parallel on the front , I use Center Gravity for all my chassis setup , they were recommended to me by Michelin !!! Oh and they do not supply tyres !!

Thanks everyone for their contribution, of course the other problem with this is that you never know if any adjustments have been successful for some time. Both Centre gravity and Poole are some distance (3 hours away), but I do go to Poole occasionally, its just I could do with sorting it out now as I am having new tyres fitted this week. So those of you who have this remedied (or just not had too) do have pretty even try wear I am presuming? I suppose I could try and drive faster in the hope it evens the tyre wear a bit (or at least round the corners!).

That's good isn't it? Even my Porsche Boxster went through a set of tyres every year (at about 10,000 miles). These tyres are Michelin Potenza re050 but I understand they are no longer available - replaced by Potenza s100 I think so the man at National Tyres told me. My rear tyres are good, but next time, assuming all four will need replacing at the same time by then, I think I might change to the Cup's, as yourself and a number of others have mentioned them in previous threads.
