It was a huge leap forward last year, in the fact that I have now proved, you can have 700bhp with 600ftlb torque, running in a hot climate in Spain and still have total reliabilty, she has not missed a beat including 3 track days.
Engine has been fantastic, heat management first class, clutch great,
I can now say its been a totaly reliable beast, with the new gearbox upgrade my car is in Bespoke for, which I will share once fitted and proven, im now going for 800bhp,
So new turbos are planed.
will keep this new post going as the work progresses.

Craig is your car currently at bespoke? as I think I saw it when I picked mine up on friday. Looked nice, Skip was telling me it was in for new turbos, as mine has just had uprated Actuators fitted.
800bhp wow lol - do you drive this back to and from Spain?
Steve

Steve
Not told Skip of my plans yet, so would not of mentioned turbos, mine was there, a black M400, but in for gearbox, Nut and bolt check, engine re fresh, and more mapping.
Yes drove out here last Feb, transported back last wk.as had enough of that journey, had done it 3 times in 6m with varios cars, too long, 1600miles
At my last dyno session I wanted to push to see how far the engine could go as my turbo can deliver pretty much whatever boost I want (its accidentally hit 2 bar before on dyno).
I found that even cranking up the boost wouldn't get it beyond 730ish bhp as the engine simply couldn't consume the extra air... so I think there is more work than just upgrading the turbos required... I think the inlet manifold and possibly even higher flow heads and higher lift cams may be required but Im only guessing
So Im going to watch your progress with interest

Class numbers, are you sure that's enough??
Hey dude,I know, and all, who have got it this far, are not amused lol, they are basicaly against it,
Its took 2 years, some folk may say 3;) to get this reliabilty.
Hows youre beast going?
Still need to get car to Jetstream, hopefully this week been stacked out with work all over the place. 5th gear hyperdrive has gone again, new valves, head work, cams, new Ecu required etc & a Saturn V three stripey parachute mechanism for additional stopping power.... apart from that lot all fine!
See ye soon to sort wheels

To be honest he was working on turbos on a few others and after the mare of my actuators maybe he was in turbo world. I had a quick nose around your and looks great!!
My folks live in southern spain, so considered doing a drive out there once - but as you say its quite a way :-/
Sundance, any idea on what turbos you are going to fit? Guessing you will be pushing GTX28Rs pretty hard at the new planned power levels. maybe a couple of small compressor GT30rs with tight housings?
What are your plans for intercooling? 800BHP and the heat in Spain is going to be tough on any intercooler.

Yes the GT turbos are maxed out, What are your plans for intercooling? 800BHP and the heat in Spain is going to be tough on any intercooler.
700 is there limit.
Tbere are a few options, but first job is to change to seperate wastgates, which involves changing the manifolds, or modifying the ones I have, plus modifying the new loom.
The big problem is the limit of the block, we saw on the bench dyno that the block will be the weak link. Heat should be better managed as able to run less boost for more power, My car has a few changes to control heat witbout cutting the bodywork, I have had probs in the UK getting enough heat into the engine, we have to tape up front air vents lol.
I will be changing IC to the same type as Simon (Tux)

Fifth gear again same as me, may have a fix, will know once mine is finished, if it works. Martin at Bespoke has the details.
once my engine is out, the car is up to Jetstream for new interior and eletric mirrors. also for there new brake upgrade.
Good luck with yours
O[quote=GTO600]Craig, wish you well with it but agree with Andy that it will need major engine modification & that's assuming the crank carrier doesn't crack like mine & Graham's did under the excess stress.[/quote
Hi Kevin,
Ive been running more power and torque than graham, and more boost 2bar, not seen a problem yet, with the safety measures I have it would of shown up in the data we took from the car, and from bench test dyno, we went to 746bhp and noticed the block preasure would be a problem if we ran more boost or power,
I will speak with Terry and ask what he thinks regarding crank housing,
I do think its alot to do with mapping, ie power deliv, boost and spark.which controls the stress around the crank carrier.
But as im no techi, I will ask that question.
There are crank exsplosion relief vavles that can be used to help release the crank carrier pressure, will look into it.
Thanks for the heads up,

Block will be the problem, yes lots of work, if we cant find a way for the block to be made stronger I will shelve the project, two wastegates and upgraded manifolds to house them, will give total control of boost and air flow, pressure valve on crank carrier will solve that prob, block im not sure we can overcome.

Crikey, coming down late Feb to pick up wheels via San.....
5th fix sounds interesting keep me updated with progress.
All sounds fabulous & best of luck with it all, gonna be even more outrageous when all done!!!
Just an update,
I will need to change the block,
From cast, to billet, does anbody know if maybe Mountune or someone else, have the CADs for the 3L engine block? as it will be to costly to start from scratch.
Im just getting all the info together and costs, before I take the plunge.
In the meantime, im just going to try this fix with the box, if that turns out to be no different then more power is the last thing on my list
Fingers crossed
