First noble purchase
Discussion
Hi gents , I'm looking to purchase my first noble and fancy the M12 gto, any advise on what sort of realistic price I should be paying if from private seller against dealer. Trying to find them for sale is like finding hens teeth at the minute. Any advise would be greatly appreciated thanks
I'd say £18-22K for a 2.5 from there to £27K for a GTO3 & £27-34K for a 3R and anything upwards for an M400 and if you want an M600...you are a lucky boy and good luck
The reason the prices vary so much is down to the level of tune, the mods owners have done and the love care and attention given, mileage is important, but less so if they have been loved, but then again there are a couple on here that a track day 700BHP demons that would probably be worth a small fortune if they were ever to sell them, and they are truly loved.
Best advice, find one, report back here, there is enough knowledge on this forum to point you in the right direction, likelihood is the previous owner would be known

Thanks for the quick reply , much appreciated .i was looking at the orange one on ebay but garage have taken a deposit on it already .Nice white one on there but think its a bit overpriced as mileage is nearly at 40k and not saying that it's high but other cars are early 20s for 3 grand more + it's a cat D which is a bit off putting for next buyer if I ever wanted to go for a 3r later on.
Hi Toonlad,
I know what you're going through! I have just bought my first Noble (6 weeks ago) and it is both difficult to assess and find a car. I can say that read as much as you can here on the forum because the information here and the advice is invaluable. It took me an age to finally take the plunge, worrying about the cost (they never got any cheaper just older), high mileage/low mileage, age, history, mods, service history, owners etc. etc. but when you actually climb into your car for the first time all that worry will largely be left behind - well behind! I had a choice of a late 2006 model, an 11,000 mileage model (which has since sold), and the one I bought which actually was a high mileage model but with many modifications. Looking back I think any would have been a delight, but all were for sale by dealers and that helped. I still worried though.
The key thing though was having taken the time to read this forum, and that is page after page, I felt somewhat able to judge a car, that I had some idea what to look out for, and was able to make an informed judgement on various issues.
If I had to break down my experience I would say the decision (for similar money) is a car that has a low mileage but has had few modifications (and by this I don't mean for speed but for reliability), and higher mileage models which had benefitted from a lot of love and attention (and hard work and money) with many of the issues already sorted. I think a low mileage is naturally attractive but on the other hand the modifications (which many would say are or will become necessary), are very expensive.
Ultimately you have to some extent take a leap of faith, but even if there is work to do the support on here is tremendous. Whatever you choose (and I also considered the one you have mentioned, I love that colour!) you will be thrilled - these cars really are something else, they are not just insanely fast but have character and soul and you will feel that yours, whichever you choose, is the only one like it, individual, unique and most importantly it will be yours for better or worse!
Good luck with your search, but don't procrastinate too much........

Thanks Chris for that fantastic piece of info ,I can only agree that the level of genuine helpful Noble loving enthusiasts out there with extensive knowledge on them is highly reassuring and makes the decisions to purchase one so much easier. I for one will be extremely proud to own one and already feel like I'll be part of an exclusive club.i plan on being a long term keeper and will closely monitor this forum for all advice on upgrades etc . I shall keep all posted upon purchase of my first Noble and reckon there will be some awfull sleepless nights until so but won't be too far away to be fair.

I think the White one was owned by someone on here until quite recently? Used to do the shows?
On another note, hate adverts like those for the White, and orange ones. Typical dealer spiel with barely any useful info!
If it's worth anything, the orange one has been talked about on here or the Facebook group, it's supposed to be nice car (obviously do your own due diligence) the colour is a wrap and it's had loads of good mods, which if you buy a standard car and you are even mildly enthusiastic, (like my 3R is moving from/to) you will spend another 3-5k in upgrades...for simple things like shocks / exhaust / Sumps and mild engine mods, bear that in mindOn another note, hate adverts like those for the White, and orange ones. Typical dealer spiel with barely any useful info!
