Hi.
I've been in various tvrs now for a few years and often look at m12s as a possible new direction. Thing is I find the styling a little ott in weird way and much prefer the m400 slippery profile.
Has anyone on here ever removed the rear diffuser to kind of make her more discrete.
And I spose I should ask if it really effected down force / stability and if there is a pic or two
Cheers
Potential ex tvr driver

I think we need to be clear on what boby parts you're referring to, and what models of Noble too.

By M400, I think you actually mean the M600, which is the £225k supercar that's available now.
The M400 was a track focused version of the M12, and to the uninitiated looks identical. (But identifyable by the side pod scoops, assuming an M12 hasn't had these retro-fitted too).

The rear diffuser is the rear section of undertray. Quite discrete on a standard car.
You would either be referring to the whale tail, or the wing that sits above it.

The wing can and has been removed, but it does do a job and creates genuine downforce, so IMHO shouldn't be removed if you want to push the high speed grip of the car. Google some M12/M400 images and I'm sure you'll come across some without the wing.

I'm not aware of anyone removing the whale tail. It would require some serious fibreglass remodelling of the rear clam, and also present cooling problems around the intercooler. Would probably ruin the airflow around the rear of the car. Having said that, some have converted the rear clam to a "fastback" look by covering over the rear window. This has airflow advantages and goes someway towards your sleeker M600 look.

If the looks at the rear disturb you that much, maybe you should be looking at a Porsche Cayman wink

Hope this helps.

I agree, I think you are referring to the wrong cars and body parts maybe....

Are you actually asking if the rear spoiler car be removed?
If so then yes, it has been removed on a number of cars, the original isn't that effective anyhow in stock form and the car would still be stable over 100mph without it... high speed cornering above 100mph might be effected which will only be a real issue on track.
Some had the holes in the body for the spoiler supports filled and then repainted, others simply put grommets in the holes which didn't look as bad as I thought it would.

Rear diffuser also does next to nothing on an M12 imo as mention its actually quite discreet in stock form... I didn't like the rear end and spent some time cleaning it up subtly, was a mass of work though.

It seems I've messed up on this.
I meant the 600 look
I meant the wing
I'll look and see if I can find a pic

That's a beauty
different car altogether without the wing. Matt...I'm sure you'd suit a rather well looked after Griffith 500.
Maybe I'd entertain a px smile

I'm also a former TVR man smile

Its actually got a wing back on now, couldn't get it out of my head that Noble fitted it for a reason and didn't trust that the grip would be there at high speed.

Think i prefer it without though for looks

OK, I was a Chimaera 500 man.
Now I love the look of my Noble. The wing is all a part of the look, and would never be without it. In fact I think it needs to be bigger. smile

Spent time wingless and diffuserless , didnt notice any difference on the public road.
I felt more of a difference with tyre pressures and suspension alignement to be honest.
