Any of you chaps taken A Noble on a ferry? Any issues with ground clearance?
Its been a while since I went on a ferry but i remember steep ramps and big humps.

Looking to take the Noble to the Isle of Mann in 2015 out of Heysham

remember going across to ireland on a ferry for the first time a few years back.

took one look at that ramp up and thought 'fk me that's steep'

wonder how the 'auto hold' on the auto box would cope with that one.

Don't have a noble chap but wish you good luck.

I've done both a prefer the train , the angle on the ramps going onto the boats does change with the tide !!! Saying that everybody has always been friendly and helpful !!

Yep, mine's been on the ferry a couple of times and all was well. You will still pull 'that face' though as you start to edge up the ramp! lol

I use the Heysham route to IOM regularly in my M400 as I live on IOM.

No real problem unless a very low tide. Take ramp to ferry at an angle to ensure no grounding. Staff are generally very good and watch you closely.

Do not try to travel via Liverpool as the ramp to the Fast Craft is not possible without additional wooden ramps etc.

I got star treatment when I took mine Dover - Calais, DFDS.
The staff were very helpful and careful, and one in particular was obviously an enthusiast. Consequently was first on, so front and centre for the exit too.

Getting on and off the ramps, they also have various wood planks on standby to help where needed. If you can get on an AA truck, then no problems with a ferry smile LOL

I've also observed other ferrys unloading, and you'll often see some exotica as first off the down ramp. I think it's commonplace for them to take extra care of something nice - unlike the Chunnel! Hate the Chunnel, but sometimes its a necessary evil.

As said before, they are vey helpful, just take any ramp at an angle, this will help with clearance. When I took mine to LeMans it was before I fitted the front splitter so would be harder now. Eurotunnel was a breeze.....

When I returned from my last Nurburgring trip with a friend in a heavily modified Boxster we were stopped and asked if our cars were low before entering the Eurotunnel. We replied yes and they took us around the queue and directed us on with the coaches to avoid the chance of having to take the upper deck. Only embarrassment was the coach-loads of people wanting pictures and a chat about the Noble and not one asking my friend about his redface

This happened to us last time coming back as well. Turns out you can book as a 'high vehicle' for the same price so we will be doing this in future smile

Anyone taken theirs over to the Isle Of Wight? I know a previous owner used to live there so its definitely done it before, but I'm debating Lymington to Yarmouth, Southampton to East Cows or Portsmouth to Fishbourne...

Took my RS4 in the summer. Didn't have many problems getting on and off. More getting in and out as we were all so tightly packed. You won't want to go 'upstairs' in a Noble. That was steep!

I've taken both and like the train more.

No issues with either, only the attraction you get and the amount of wine you can fit in it.
