Got these sent today and bolted them on
Seem to reduce sound by about 2db, so might make the difference
between getting on track or a early day.
Yes I know they look ridiculous.lol

not so good if you have to raise the clam after the session...

In truth your exhaust should be able to get you on track without extra help unless its knackered.

Main exhaust is fairly new, always seems to be a bit noisey.about 100db
Bought them as a back up just in case really, easy to fit just bolt on.
There is a thread on Track Days on ph about noise n it got me a bit paranoid.
Even standard Porsche gt3 struggle to pass db levels at brands
Would really piss me off to get a black flag.

Struggled to get my standard gt03 to less than 100db at keevil.at first they insisted on 6000rpm as no red line shown on rev clock!registered 106db

my car revs to 8000rpm so is always tested at 6000rpm and I can pass... given mine is one of the most free flowing exhausts out there mine should be one of the noisiest, but it isn't.

The roushe exhausts had an option for track day silencers, ironic really as simply repacking them with decent quality internals sees them pass noise tests without any extras bolted on... given the price its a real shame.

I do agree having these ones as a backup is a good idea, run the car without and fit if you get flagged or moaned at... if they are funny about the rev limit simply blip the car to the limiter to show them were it is, if your worried about doing that then don't go on track as you will rev it close to the limiter there under load lol

Have you co cornered some 45 to 90 degree bends with the exits pointed towards the ground? I have seen this done on race cars as the floor a sorbs some of the sound as well as deflects it in multiple directions. Obviously this won't help with static tests.

Just a word of warning, I close friend runs a high power Evo, a lot of the Evo boys don't run silencers as some have had issues with restricted exhaust flow causing heat build up back to the turbo causing failure. Different application etc.. But just thought it worth mentioning.

That`s why I didn't go with the SuperTraps
Your right, can cause problems with turbo cars.

Glad you know.

Could you briefly summarise how these work so they don't cause an issue? If I can persuade my mate on one of these it would save looking for unlimited days....if such a thing still exists.
