Headunit in the centre console
Discussion
Hi All,
I know a few of you have moved the stereo head unit to the centre console. How have you done this?
I have problems, the stereo is too deep and touches the sides of the dashboard as it curves in.
There is a large metal structure behind that the stereo also fouls.
Width isn't a problem.
Do you have modifications to your dashboard or something?

Don't know if it helps but Ferrari use to mod alpine units with the removable face plate so just the surround and face where used and the rest was trimmed in the boot.can't image it's that hard to copy
For that to be reliable you would need a custom connector to mate with it and the unit would need to have enough drive.Edited by ajf on Thursday 13th November 07:41
I cant see that cutting slots in the two metal side pieces would effect the structural integrity of the car, I'm sure Noble did it like that as it was a cheapest way,
