Hi All,

I know a few of you have moved the stereo head unit to the centre console. How have you done this?

I have problems, the stereo is too deep and touches the sides of the dashboard as it curves in.
There is a large metal structure behind that the stereo also fouls.

Width isn't a problem.

Do you have modifications to your dashboard or something?

This was something I was looking at as the remote is a pain in the bum, I was wondering if there was any mechless units available that were not too deep so would not foul the side

There is a few models that seem to be shallower than normal, but finding them is difficult. The monkeys at halfords i asked had no idea what i was talking about.

I did this, I modified the dash angle of the front and the chassis behind and got a double din in there.... As a result the dash looks stock but it was a lot of work.

That looks cool.

Unfortunately my dash is leather trimmed so i don't want to alter it if i can, but its not looking hopeful unless i can find a shallow head unit. The quest goes on.

Thanks for you help, uuuum carbon smile

Don't know if it helps but Ferrari use to mod alpine units with the removable face plate so just the surround and face where used and the rest was trimmed in the boot.can't image it's that hard to copy

For that to be reliable you would need a custom connector to mate with it and the unit would need to have enough drive.

I cant see that cutting slots in the two metal side pieces would effect the structural integrity of the car, I'm sure Noble did it like that as it was a cheapest way,
