Hi all,

Seems my alarm has damaged wiring, all centred around the ultrasonic sensor module.
The two ultrasonic sensors can be bought easy enough, but the centre 4 pin plug into the module has damaged wiring.

Does anyone have an old alarm loom that they could cut this plug and wire from and sell me? Or does anyone know if/where/how the plug can be replaced?

Are the clam switch 'normal' ones, or is anything special about them?

Thanks

Matt

I removed my alarm earlier in the year... Will dig it out when I'm back in UK, yours for postage.

btw nothing special about the clam switches for the alarm...

In all honestly I would consider fitting a new alarm, its pretty much the cheapest one that was available 10 years back so its not exactly top notch even when new.

I did think about fitting a replacement alarm, but not sure it would be worthwhile, my car is pretty securely parked up. If someone got in to get it, i doubt the alarm would stop them, so it's main purpose is just unlocking the doors.
The ultrasonics have been faulty for ages, just wanted to restore the system as I have the dash off at the moment.

Mine would do it if left out in rain or after a wash. So u might be getting water into the module under front clam.

Same symptoms as mine. My issue was two fold.

The door switches where sticking in random places, i solved this by putting a striker in the door giving more positive switch triggering.

The ultrasonic eye sensor in the passenger footwell had pulled the wires from the plugs and they were shorting out. There are three plugs, two for the ultrasonics and one to connector to the harness.

In the passenger footwell near the alarm module, small black unit. You can disconnect the largest plug and see if that fixes your problem.

my stock alarm used to go off overnight as well... it was the passenger door switch used to become dodgy overnight, presumably because it contracted when cold.
