Had my car mapped by Mike (gadgeroonie) with the use of Gary (ex crazy horses) rolling road.I rolled up last saturday and Mike and Gary were more than accomodating Mike explained everything he was doing as the car was being mapped the car started with 278 bhp got her up to 316 then we all had a lunch break.Well after the lunch break the car decided to throw its toys out of the pram and not start Gary checked all relays, fuses etc all seemed fine anyway we had to abort the session.

In the meantime Gary found the problem to be a wiring issue so I rolled up this evening for Mike and Gary to finish the mapping well things went a lot better than expected the car actually did a 363 bhp(my car is standard and an old girl with 88k on clock) on the dyno but Mike thought best to lower it a bit I ended up with 350 bhp and 360 ft/lb torque. The attention to detail and care provided was second to none I would highly reccomend them if people are looking for an alternative route for mapping.

Almost a 90bhp increase just from mapping, that's amazing! That's really good figures from a standard 2.5, thought they made the low 300's usually?

Yep, they generally made sub 300.

Chris, is that with aftermarket exhaust. I got to 380 with just exhaust and a bit more boost.

Simple mod is to change inlet manifold to a ST200 one. Let's in more air.

There are now two at around 410 and one +450

Wow great figures.. I need to get a remap..

MGBOND is the ST200 inlet manifold a bolt on item? Would you need to change or adjust anything else?

Hey Chris that's pretty good.Shame i couldn't make it to the second round of dyno work due to the electrical glitch.
I must say, anyone thinking of having their car mapped should look at contacting Mike (Gadgeroonie)
while i was there on the saturday for 4 hours with Chris, Mike went to great lengths to explain exactly what he was doing.Chris had the misfortune to have an electrical glitch 3/4 of the way through the mapping session, so they were not able to complete the mapping and dyno work. At first they thought it may be the ecu as app they are tempremental and can fry themselves, but happy for him it was a dodgy sensor. I was very impressed with Mike and Gary's attention to detail and care with Chris' car.
Now reading between the lines, it appears that Chris found something quite important and totally different to his experience in Essex which is, Mike is an enthusiast, and also owns a noble he was keen and accommodated Chris, and mapped his car at a time and date suitable to Chris, and was passionate about what he was doing, and not in it (JUST FOR THE MONEY) unlike the troubles and experience he had getting his car mapped in Essex!!!
So gauging by what i saw and results and the way Chris was treated, even with Mike and Gary having to come back do a second session through no fault of their own.
A big thumbs up to Gary too otherwise we wouldnt have got home that Saturday without Gary lending us a car for over a week..... TOP BLOKE
I would say there is a fantastic alternative here to the previous mappers and Dynos, who held everyone over a barrel. imho

Great job by Gadge and Gary.
Just shows that any car can hit a glich, and then takes time to find and fix, what would happen to the guy who was booked in after? Think he would be in for a long wait.
My point is lets not be so hard on the Essex boys. Just a bit more customer relations ok, anyone can have a bad day.

I'm sure Chris's was a 2.5.

With exhaust change an a bit more boost (1bar) a 2.5 can be 380bhp. However mine and another had number 5 piston go at this power.

But with a stronger engine and better turbos you can get them to 450+ at about 1.2 bar.

I'm at 410 with std turbos at 1.2bar but I'm murdering my turbos as they are running well outside their efficiency map.

Sounds like good power, and from reading the above (3.0 exhaust fitted) and previous posts, it's a 2.5.

On the flip side of the 'Essex Boys' bashing, I for one had a great experience recently. Enthusiast was an understatement, knowledge and time taken to show me what was happening was fantastic and I returned a happy bunny with 380bhp, 400lb/ft and a car I did't recognize.

For balance, there's loads on here whose experience with the target of you're post have had no trouble with at all. My own was 100% spot on. On time, the two of them got under my car sorted out an issue that was holding the car back,( which took several phone calls as well) kept me informed and I got exactly what I paid for and more. Not only that but there's been times when owners have popped round his house with an issue nothing to do with him, and he's happily jumped in the car with his lap-top on a Sunday and nailed the problem, without asking for anything in return.
No-one is/was holding anyone over a barrel, and to suggest that, or to put into capital letters what you said about him is frankly bang out of order.

Well, all points of view, relative to what's actually experienced, are valid. I suppose Chris would have posted this rendition of his experience but didn't for fear of being mullered again wink
