After chasing a non-starting issue with my car, it seems that my ECU has mysteriously developed a fault. The ECU will not send fuel to the injectors, so the injector driver / pulser within the ECU is at fault. MBE will not repair these units, however I may have an alternative source who can repair my unit.

So does anyone have an second hand MBE ECU that they would sell to me. Preferably functioning, or if not non-functioning if we can scavenge the injector driver chip from it? Hoping that someone may have upgraded their ECU and still have their old unit. My car is a 2004 3R, ECU part number 975B. Many Thanks.

I have a spare that works perfectly... its heavily mapped so you would need to get your one put on it as you couldn't run it/drive with it... but it should at least start your car.

Hi Andy - You keep coming to my rescue!

Jetstream have my map, and so the logical task would be to get the ECU to them. I'd be extremely grateful if you would be prepared to part with it! Perhaps you could PM me with how much you'd like for it. I'll pick up my messages tonight after work. Many thanks, this is greatly appreciated! smile
P.S. I still have your old evaporator & hose!

Whip the lid off your ecu and take a pic of the pcb and components. I bet you can buy the driver ICs for a few quid from RS / Farnell etc! (or as it's obsolete, give Jeff Moore a call at MBE and ask him what the driver IC is for that ecu?)

Spooky. Mine did exactly the same thing about a month ago. Finally eliminated everything so that it could only be the ECU. Is your fuel pump priming? Mine wont prime as well as not sending any spark. Jetstream do an updated version of the ECU which requires a different connector (quick mod) but has OBD so it's easier to diagnose in the future £800 (+vat) I think.

Must be that time of year!

I think that's not a bad price if they are fitting it.

All sorted, with Andy's spare ECU - Jetstream have loaded my map onto it, and now the car's running fine.
My fuel pump was priming ok except sometimes it would re-prime itself. Turns out that one of the 10 amp fuses was a bit corroded causing a dodgy connection too, so all fine now. At last, my car is back on the road - just in time for winter.
