Hi guys,
I have a retest booked in for emissions. I'm not able to run a tank of fuel thru before the test. I'm thinking putting redex in thrashing it then going for the test with redex in the tank would be a bad idea.

Any comments on the best way forward?

Do you have a dual exhaust (dual cats) and if so did you get them to test both pipes? On my car I must have a duff cat as one side always failed (the pipe closest to the machine) so I'd get them to retry on the other and it passed ! Did this for 3 years at the same test center.

Is it failing the idle or fast-idle ? I assume there are different thresholds for both, if its fast idle can you have a friendly word with the operator and get him to perform the test at a lower RPM ? Its not like the machine knows how fast the engine is turning over.

Thanks for the post. I'd have to check I wouldn't be surprised if it is a dual cat system. I will have a chat with the guy and see what's what. Try each exhaust and what can be done. I don't think he will be too helpful as it's a main garage. Fingers crossed!
