Hey all, a few days ago I started getting a grinding noise from what sounds like the clutch area. It only happens under load and when warmed up. If I depress the clutch - no noise, except maybe a whirring I may not have noticed before. Doesn't seem to be the wheel bearings and there's been no drop in performance. Have had some suggestions from friends of thrust bearing or clutch release bearing. Any suggestions before I contact Jetstream?

Sounds like the clutch thrust bearing.

You have two choices - live with it or take the engine out !

Yeah I thought as much...my concern is that eventually it'll explode all over the inside of the gearbox and take the gearbox out with it. This is exactly what happened to my old 4X4. And while I replaced the gearbox myself on that, I really don't want to do it on this!

I wonder whether cutting the chassis will adversely affect resale since quite a few have done it now?

I've heard about that solution, what's the alternative? A whole lot more work I'm guessing..

The alternative is doing the job correctly.

Haha that did occur to me actually! I might as well take the opportunity to make the best of it. I'm probably looking at just shy of 400hp currently. Obviously I'd always like more power but I don't want to start getting into the game of pushing everything to its limit and snapping things. I know this is going off topic but what upgrades/bhp should I go for without pushing my luck too much?

What would your insurance company make of it if you didnt tell them and you got rear-ended and inspected (ooh-er!)
