M400 prices and availability
Discussion
Did all the (RHD) M400's get sold that were on here. Are there no M400's for sale at the moment. The blue one on here is already sold I believe.
I'm thinking it's a good time to put mine on here before winter gets here. Any advise on value would be good as it's had all the usual work to get it running 540bhp. I know mods doesn't always increase value and some buyers would be put off by it.
It seems they get advertised for around £40k upwards (not so sure about privately though).
Mine has got 42k miles on it which compared to a lot I see is high, but thats only because it has been used as a road car.

The last one I know of went for 43Kish with 26K miles on, standard car. However, some change hands without effectively ever coming up for sale. Some sell pretty much immediately ( like the MV car)but the dealer keeps the advert live to provoke enquiries.
Quite how they are valued at circa 15-20 grand less than a Sagaris is beyond me but that's another matter.

I'm with you too, I came from a Sagaris although a stunning looking car in the right colour cannot be compared all round to an M400 which is far rarer car too.
The price difference is remarkable especially after owning both. I'd have another but would no way pay anywhere near the 50 to 60K+ for one which rules out future ownership again, even my old Sagaris which was & still one of the best full spec versions.
The M400 is value in comparison therefore cannot mentally substantiate the price difference between the two cars.
Can't ever imagine not having an M400 now, it's the 'Ian Botham' of cars I've owned (does everything)

Desirability combined with availability and demand, simple.Quite how they are valued at circa 15-20 grand less than a Sagaris is beyond me but that's another matter.
In truth TVR has a bigger audience for a longer time.
Noble for all the enthusiasm shown here and wherever they go just aren't as big a name for the average Joe as TVR.
I looked at the Noble (not M400 but the 3R) and the Sagaris back when I was looking and they were both about the same price, 30-36k. I went the route of the Noble and upgrade with the money saved as I felt it was/is more track orientated.
My view of why they haven't matched in value is the looks, and sound from some angles the Noble is great, but the Mondeo link thanks to Clarkson is hard to shake, the rear lights, switch gear, expansion tank etc might be the only real link to the Mondeo. The amount of times I get told "it's a Mondeo engine in that" The Sargaris, also built from the spares box, I feel is a better selection of bits. I'd go so far as to say the TVR has a better/more modern interior, I'm still happy I went with the Noble route as I feel its a better car to drive. The one thing that would move me to another car would be the sound, the thing I miss with the Noble.

Wessex/FC, you both make valid points, and I wasa big TVR fan having owned 4 new ones.
However, looks are purely subjective ( I personally thing the Sag is horribly overstyled/fake vents and God knows what else) and to my eyes is the ugliest car they made from the Griffith era onwards. My interior hasn't had anything break or fail to work (touch wood) whereas the 4 Tivs I owned had interiors that were a wonderment to glue that didn't stick, dials that didn't work and knobs that ended up as carpet jewellery! And the Sag simply doesn't give the easy rewards that a Nob gives.
At some point the two carw will align themselves a bit closer,I can't see the M400 reaching Sag prices, but I can see the Sag prices peaking and falling back a little at the 50K barrier.
It's a shame that the M600 is marketed so far under the publics radar that it doesn't have add halo effect to the brand.
