Hey

This week my car has been over to the guys at Jetstream who really do know what they are doing and look after you well. I had to have a new aircon box supplied and fitted at a nice £700+ after my ventilation system gave up.

Now my 5th gear on my 6 speed box has given up. So that's an engine out job to fix and restore the gear box back to its glory. Just waiting for the quote to come through which I am sure won't be cheap.

If your looking to buy a Noble be prepared because mine was a great example of one, full health check and JetStream personally did the tuning to it and said it drives beautifully. I know its seriously quick and when it works its just amazing fun BUT be ready for the running costs. Mine has broken every month since I bought it last year and its costing a small fortune to keep it in full health and good condition.

On the positive, they are rare and you never see them driving around. Certainly not in my local area and even at Supercar meets there are only ever a few of us and its incredibly quick (mines 475bhp) which really is all you need on the road.

Hopefully this helps some people thinking about buying one.

Hi Garreth

sorry to hear about gear box . Do you have a gearbox oil cooler ? Did the gearbox have any work done to it prior to breaking 5th and what torque are you running ?

cheers

Does anyone know of any junior supercars that are anything between 8-14 years old that are cheap to run? It goes with the territory.

My standard car has never let me down in 8 years, I did have one unplanned stop to tighten up a rear hub nut before they were upgraded but apart from that it's been great. I can't think of another car that gets anywhere near the fun of a noble for sensible money.

For balance, an air-con pump on my Granturismo was allegedly 5 grand, and a new headlight on the McLaren Mp4 12c is apparently circa 4.5K + fitting!!!!!

Sure I read somewhere it was 3700+ vat and fitting, but I stand corrected. Prob' like the 17 grand GTR bonnet internet myth!

well i know the cost of a clutch replacement on an E60 BMW M5 is £2.5k and are a known weak point... front brakes are £1.5k and can need doing as often as 20k.
Hell to get the DVD player fixed they wanted £2k... I simply didn't bother lol

Not justifying the high cost of some peoples well looked after noble, they are getting old now and as such weak spots are emerging... Ive spent an absolute fortune chasing high power reliability for decent road and track mileage on my car... in fact development chasing the reliability has cost more than developing the power.... but its a modified car so I shouldn't expect any less lol

I think everybody has High's and Low's when it comes to Noble ownership !!
The low's are normally expensive and Anoying !!!
I've got some painfull lows :
Rusty crap heap when I bought her

Broken engine on the dyno caused by faulty brand new crank !!! It ment I had to take the engine out for the 3rd time in 4 months !!

But the Highs are so worth it !! Nothing more so than last weekend :-)

Keep at it , it's so worth it !!

Hey

I have external oil cooler fitted and all the floor modifications and venting modifications etc.
This was done with the M400 upgrade pack that was done before I got it.

Torque... I don't have a chart to hand if I am honest.
I know a modification can be done to stop this from happening again though which I guess will help
The gear box has done 30,000 miles without being touched from factory but then I think what's next!
