looking to put some money into a car for the long term, would a noble M12 3R be a safe bet, what is the pricing trend at the moment, going down, up or just stable. What does the future hold, would assume that they will increase in value due to limited numbers.

Opinion is that the 400 being rarer will be the best investment. However my own opinion is that prices are unlikely to rise at a rate that would make a decent return.
It's quite possible that over the next 5 years you could own and not loose money, but that doesn't factor in servicing or modifications!

A Noble won't make you any money if that's what your looking to achieve. If you look after it well it will only cost you running costs/servicing.

M3 CSL if you want something to put away, M12 if you want something to not cost you a lot in depreciation.

Re Nobles, I'm forecasting prices as follows for top condition, low mileage, low owner cars:

5 years (2019):
GTO-3R --- £35,000 - £45,000
M400 --- £50,000 - £60,000

10 years (2024):
GTO-3R --- £40,000 - £55,000
M400 --- £60,00 - £70,000

And a little less for 2.5s and 3.0s.

Let's see if I'm right back to the future wink

yes Good CSL with low miles now £50K.

Don't forget the Fezza 355 - prices already ramping up nicely.

Ironically sold my 355 to get the noble last year. If I had it now it'd be worth £7-8k more than I sold it for!! I hear that nice 360's are a bit undervalued ATM and are about to increase sharply for good ones. But I'll let you know when I sell the nob, because then they're guaranteed to go up!!

I cant understand why certain cars seem to be shooting up in value I always thought rarity factor played a huge part they must have made a few more 355s 360s than Nobles plus the csl beemers seem to be fetching silly money.

They're worth it though, they're so very worth it. I'm absolutely smitten with mine.

Swopped one of my air cooled 911s for Noble just over 2 years ago, if i had kept the Porsche it would be nudging 50k and you know what its the best deal i ever done....i wouldnt swop or sell my Noble for all the tea in China!
(but i must admit) i have 3 early aircooled 911s to pay for my Noble...
Remember the law is never buy and run a liability unless you have an asset to pay for it!!

I wonder what a well used Noble will fetch in 10 yrs. mine would prob be on about 110k but probably it's 3rd engine with that one hopefully being of choice rather than from failure. Lol

Problem with buying one is that you want to drive it all the time!

Sags are around 45-55k. Many have been sitting around on PH for months if not over a year without a sale. 66k is a one off an exceptional car e.g. Racing Green . My mate just bought one with less than 25k for around 45. I can see them stabilising mid to high 50's for good ones when TVR's begin to be made again. Unfortunately as soon as you start driving them your investment reduces.

Purely based on 3 advertised on PH at this price level (1 since reduced since I posted) albeit as you point out they're super low mileage. But I don't think that they cost that much new, hence the response to investment potential. To match that with our cars, we need to see 3Rs topping 50k+ and M400s at 60k+

Kerridges have a Sagaris in Chameleon Green for £57k. http://www.kerridges.co.uk/used-cars/852/tvr-sagar...
That is spot on for pricing, been 'dreaming' about these for ages, but the prices are rock solid.
GT badged Porsches are a good investment, GT3 RS's are rocketing in price.

St8six have sold 6 Sags with average miles and all around the 60k mark in the last 6 months, a mint low mileage one went for near 70k, good ones don't hang around for long,

The ones not selling on ph aren't selling for a reason, suspect history, ex damaged cars, cat d and dodgy colour combos, you need to do your homework,

Sagaris and CSL are both incredible cars and a safe investment IMHO

65k for low mileage

100k for a so called new one

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

That's how much a new factory Sag would cost now, that's why I can see prices at 100k in a few years for good second hand ones, and probably more for the upgraded 4.3/4.5 Sags,
