Bought my car from them 3 months ago and they have been very supportive since. I've had a few minor teething problems with the m400 and took it back to Chip last week. In no time at all he fixed my cold stalling issue (probably throttle body clean that did the trick) corrected my tracked, replaced my coolant and changed my seat position, all free of charge. Top bloke(s). Car now even more responsive and steering even more accurate (and it was terrific before).

Questions:
1) I feel as though the car is running out of puff before it hits 7k. Could be the hotter, more humid weather. Assuming there isn't a problem as such, is an uprated intercooler likely to improve this? It's the first mod I want to do.
2) Is there a proper, technical way to refer to the large, very easily squashed pipe which comes out of the top right side of the i/c? I definitely want rid of that thing.

Thanks folks.

A standard M400 runs out of puff at 6250rpm, ask them if they did a compression test, it may be suffering from valve float if it has standard valve springs, with regard to the intercooler, you may be in the start if a very slippery slope, skip does know all of the answers to your questions.

Your in good hands at Bespoke, Skip has pretty much done all on my 400, after the initial kick as standard they do go flat after 6krpm, as Adrian said unless you want to spend 10k to go the next step, ie valve springs, intercooler gear box clutch exhaust, injectors, and a TJ re map :-)

Thanks for the replies folks.

My car is better than average then as it doesn't start to falter until 6.5k +

The reason I was wondering, sjc was kind enough to allow me to drive his car the other month and that definitely pulled well to 7k. His only mods are faulks i/c, hard pipe kit and BOV. I don't think he's had the valves done. Admittedly that was colder weather.

Definitely not spending 10k on her but something to negate the hotter air would be good. It's what Chip recommended as a first/only step.

Weird. Out this evening and pulling hard to 7k. Hope I don't have an erratic boost issue. 1.0 - 1.1 bar max so not massively overboosting. Could cooler air make so much of a difference?

Has it had a set of different cams fitted, or the cam timing altered?
