Afternoon!

While my search continues for a Noble (good news, my car sold so ready to go!) I keep coming across the "floors replaced" phrase a lot.

What does this mean?why are they replaced?

Cheers

Sometimes the floor seals leak with age so people are saying they had the floors resealed... Some cars never leak, but they were not sealed that well from the factory

I don't think it's anything to worry about. If u find a car that had it done then it's a bonus. It is a big job but not hard, just time consuming.

The floor is made of thin alloy sheets riveted to the steel chassis with some flexible/mastic sealant, the rivets and surrounding floor sheets tend to corrode leaving gaps for water ingress. The fix is to drill out the fixing rivets, remove floor and refurbish (I had mine soda blasted as they are too thin for sand, and then powder coated) or replace, then fix using a) neoprene tape or b) silicone type sealant and c)rivets of various material or d) self tapping screws of some material/head design. a,b,c,and d have been subjects of much debate but no welding required at all but scraping off original flexible sealant is time consuming. Can send you some photos but too lazy to attach at the moment smile

As said above the issue is that the screws rust, rust expands and pushes the floor away from the chassis rails leaving a gap.

Rivets not screws and also the rivet heads fall off so nothing to stop floor coming away.
