Hi all,

I was looking for a new engine for my 3r (the old one is not in good shape frown
an I've found a brand new jag30 at really good price in Italy
Did someone know if the jag have the same bellhousing pattern of our ford unit?

...I've already considered to upgrade internals and ecu to fit the new engine.

thank you

The s type jag 3l is the same block as the unit in the noble, I don't know if the jag you refer to is the same one?

Heads, cams water water pump are all different on the jag s type though so you use them without serious mods.

Hi Andy,

Yes,is the S type,X type unit ...
I will use an electric w.pump and new cams (mine are damaged) ...and maybe (not yet decided) disable the VCT
The motec will handle ,but I'm not sure about the benefit.

thanks for the info.

With the jag all the timing chain cover and rocker covers will be different and the water flows through the block a different direction... I looked into using the jag engine as it's a better design head IMO and the exhaust should still bolt up... I even bought a jag engine to experiment with... But with mods I've managed to get mine to rev to 8k reliably so didn't see the point changing.

I also run a motec m800 ecu.
