Morning!

I am now massively hooked on the idea of a Noble and struggling to find one local to me! I still have some looking into stuff to do before I commit (after all, it's a fairly big financial decision?)

I would love to go out in one, I'm worried about driving 100's of miles and realising I'm too tall for one!

I have seen a grey one in Great Yarmouth twice in the last 2 days and would love to know who it is!

Is there anyone local who would be kind enough to take me out? Happy to pay in beers? I'm also very handy when it comes to detailing so could make the drive here worth it for you smile

Thanks!

You'll be fine, I am 6ft 2 and......enjoy my food and wine! Just watch the narrow parking spaces otherwise you might have to fold yourself up a little! Have you tried kerridges to have a sit in it? They have a Grey one.

One long term owner is over 6:5 and fits in a stock car :-)

Well, I went to the snetterton trackday this evening and bumped into 2 VERY kind guys. I never got a name but I know the car is well known (private plate spells noble XXXBLE) so I'm sure you guys will know.

We spent a while chatting and he kindly let me sit in and I'm shocked. The seat even went back far enough for me to not be able to reach the pedals properly!

I have been talked into the 3 at minimum now though!

I have seen the one at Kerridges but I wouldn't want to waste anyone's time as I have no intentions of buying that one (out my budget)

I have driven that car recently, I'd seriously see if you can stretch to it,it's a stunning example, and drives absolutely superb.
Either way, it will be worth popping in, just to talk Nobles with Steve.

Spoke with Steve, I'm going to view the 3R this afternoon, I explained my circumstances and we discussed possibilities. There is potentially a 3R he is getting in which is more towards my budget so going to use this 3R to see if size wise etc I am ok in one then go from there!

The more I think about it, the more I think I would regret not upping my budget. I don't want to be left paying for expensive repairs because I bought cheap!

See how this afternoon goes and from there really!

Cheers guys

good luck, you're gonna be hooked.
with regards to room, I'm 6'3 ish, and I have fitted fine in my previous 3r and my current M400.the steering wheel is adjustable fore/aft but not up/down. In both my cars I have had the front seat raised slightly, and an extended boss fitted to bring the wheel closer to me, which also helps with knee room as the wheel gets higher the further it comes out. With a bit of playing about, you should be fine.
Report back when you've stopped grinning!

A smaller (320mm) wheel gives additional options also, although you will need the extended boss that sjc refers to otherwise you won't be able to read the instruments. Improves steering feel as an extra bonus.

That'll be me in the grey one, my normal transport is in garage so just using it for a few days. Did my first trackday last week at snetterton which was great fun, I've been to the nurburgring but never felt brave enough to put my foot down too much.

The trouble with nobles is that once you start modifying them for reliability, it goes hand in hand with increasing the power. You start thinking 'well the gearbox and clutch can now take much more power so i might as well get my moneys worth'.
When I got mine it was totally standard, looking back I should have got a ready modified one and saved some money. Exhaust, intercooler and a mapping is £3k plus and thats just the start, so try to make sure you know what you want.
Kerridges do have some lovely cars, usually standard spec or close to it.
If I was you i'd borrow more money and get a well sorted M400, with prices steadily increasing at a greater rate than the other models (that's probably bks but wishful thinking), it could be a wise choice.

Just got back! Was sunny when I left mine, it then rained all the trip there! Soaking when I was there and raining on way back.. Now it's sunny!

Steve didn't want me to drive it (obvious reasons, greasy wet roads etc) but I can fit in it perfectly! This one is modified which, despite what Jamie says., worries me! I like the idea of doing it myself and knowing it's perfect (even though it costs more) for me, it's part of the fun and piece of mind at the same time!

Really good condition, tyres, brakes etc are good p. Interior is immaculate and literally only a few stonechips outside! I am considering this for sure but I'm keeping my eyes open for the one Steve has planned on bringing in with any luck!

Jamie, would you mind showing me around it one day when your free? I kind of stalked it the other day if I'm honest, I see it parked on the harfreys estate and got out the van and had a look through the fence! Stunning car!

It was previously owned by someone on here if you are concerned about anything.I've driven a dozen or so Nobles over the years, and that's the best of the lot. It's only modded with Roush exhaust, Trevor Jasper map and intercooler I believe,so no worries there.

If I'm honest the exhaust wasn't to my taste. I didn't like the look of the tips or the sound. Was a bit loud for me! Where I live, police have nothing better to do than stop cars (quite a big modified car scene here) and I wouldn't want to give them any reason to pull me. I think they will be drawn to the car as it is! Haha.

I'm now putting my up for sale so will see what happens! Steve is pricing it up for PX also!

Exciting times biggrin can't wait to get one now!

Buy a stock car and
1) You will need to replace the exhaust
2) Eventually you will want for more power
3) You will need the above bits!!
From the sound of it, the main things that all Nobles require to make them better and more reliable have been done, but there is still a bucket load of things you can do to make the car more "you"
The exhaust tips can be changed very easily and I'm sure the cans can be repacked, so wouldn't worry. sjc has been around Nobles for along time, if he rates this car, that's a great endorsement of its condition.
You might pay slightly more for this car, but as and when you come to sell, if you haven't flung it at the scenery, its going to hold that premium. HTH and bol for the purchase!! smile

Thanks for the advice!

I am sure it's the car for me, it's only simple things I would change but.. At £13k over my original budget.. It's a big jump!
