Hi guys,
Sorry to ask this but where is the coolant reservoir to check the level?

I have noticed a very small leak from the front. I checked the manual and the res appears to be by the fuel filler cap. However I have a swirl pot where it is shown( the manual was for the original Gto and I have. 3R + mods). I would be grateful if anyone can point out its location in the below pictures!

!

Cheers guys

Jed the header tank is that 'swirl pot' by the fuel filler lol that's the pro alloy header tank you have with the red lever cap smile

The pro alloy header has an option for a level sight glass when you order it - So i take it yours didnt?

Im still rocking the circa 1980s ford tank which is one giant sight glass ;-)

Cheers guys I thought it may ba obvious. I thought the swirl pot was for the fuel?

Steve I can't remember if i have the window I'll check. In which case is there a fill level marker once I open the top? If I have the window should the liquid completely fill it?

Jed, not an embarrassing question at all. As your engine bay has clearly been messed with I'd have double-checked too.

Jed

Just fitted the same header tank and mine has the glass window - still trying to work out the fill level though as kept finding coolant underneath the car after the car had cooled down, no leaks so must have been overfilled

At the moment the level seems to be right at the bottom of the window, so you can barely see it

Thanks Pete, as long as i can see something in the window I assume that's ok! I'll have a look this afternoon and report back!

Obviously checking the level is a good idea regardless but if you have 'a leak' from the front and the level looks ok, it could equally just be washer fluid leaking from the tank/pipework under the front clam.

My TVR had a similar pot with no sight glass. I just kept a length of absorbent wood with the correct level marked on it. To check, just dip in the tank to see where the wet level reached.

Jed it could just be something simple like tightening a few jubiliee clips as thats what sorted mine.

Hi steve I'm sure it is that simple. Jetstream noticed some water at the service and pressure tested the system and couldn't see anything obvious at the time to fix. Shame really now I have to get some tools out a cock around!

Check the level ehen its cold if u have a sight window, also i would think the overflow pipe is where ur feet tend to be venting by the rear wheel arch, so over filling eill just be spat out, if the sight glass is full when cold, then ur good to go.

Where are you getting the water?

The window in the header tank was low so I think I'll clean the area, tighten clips and see what happens.
