rear brake pads
Discussion
Just getting my discs skimmed on 2002 GTO , ive sorted new front pads but can anybody out there recomend rear set and fittment.. i spoke with AP and they asked me to get number off of caliper so they could match the pads but i cant find any bloody numbers anywhere and dont want to order £100 plus of wrong rear pads!!
And just out of intrest why have some calipers got AP stamped on them and some stamped Noble, is it an age related thingy
Thanx

Mark, the rears are a modified version of the fronts so you will need need to buy from a specific source like Jetstream.
As for the Calipers yes you are right early cars say AP & from 2003 they say Noble but they are the same caliper.

Do you know what the modification is? I have access to a CNC machine so could modify myself if its easy enough? As for the Calipers yes you are right early cars say AP & from 2003 they say Noble but they are the same caliper.

Great cheers have had the fronts fitted (squeel a bit at low speed) and after checking the rears when Pro Cut skimmed my discs i see what you mean about the bit machined out of the pads ... and will get the rears on order from Cam Skill when i put wheels in for refurbishing next week
A couple of months ago I changed my front pads from standard AP (Ferodo DS 2500? Just had AP stamped on them) to Pagid RS29s. Since then I have experienced a little brake judder, which I've read many have experienced but confused as to why just front pads would cause this. Well last night I fitted Pagids to the rear as well, and amazingly the judder has gone. (I've not had any spindle mods done).
Very confused as to why mismatched axles could cause such judder, but happy with my smooth braking today
The judder wasn't serious and tollerable, but still an annoyance.
Thruxton tomorrow, so will try them in anger

Interesting, I am also running mismatched pads front/rear, and have bad judder. Interested to hear how you get on on track, as that's the only time mine is noticeable. Very confused as to why mismatched axles could cause such judder, but happy with my smooth braking today
