Dear All,

I am currently preparing the car for a time attack in Sicily in July. I am expecting temperatures of around 35 -38 and am trying to keep the temperatures down. I have a Roush exhaust which produces massive heat.

Would you suggest the following:

1. Heat Wrapping the whole exhaust (from after turbos onwards)?
2. Heat wrapping (with a jacket) the turbos (I was thinking at least doing the rear turbo)?
3. Moving the air filters/intakes so as not to sit on the exhaust? I imagine that way they would soak less heat.

Thank you for your thoughts and wishing to see you in the near future in UK for a track day

PS.... I also need the gaskets Rousch used to assemble their exhaust. Would you happen to know what part number they are?? Are they a Ford part?

Cheers

Wrap the exhaust but not the turbos or manifolds. In my experience it just causes turbos/manifolds to get too hot.

Wrapping the exhaust is a good idea , I also cut 2 holes In the rear clam either side off number plate which let put a lot of heat !!

Mine is all wrapped from the turbo's back, but the boxes are not. I have basically boxed in the exhaust section with dual layer nimbus heat material to try and keep everything under control and reduce heat soak to the turbo, works pretty well, the clam doesn't get hot at all. Air comes into 'the box' from the engine bay, and out the vent between the tailpipes

What about the gaskets for the Rousch exhaust?

From where can I source these?

Just tell them what you need, they'll be able to supply a kit.

Thanks Guys

And I've been reading on the PH forums

Some People are in favour of gaskets between the turbo and manifold and some are not.

What are your thoughts? Simon has suggested that I do insert these to avoid bolts coming loose again. But some say that the gasket doesn't really help

Would it also be a good idea to fit meth kit to keep intake temps down?

Not only does your new carbon diffuser look good Simon, I rather like your standard looking exhaust tips in matt black. Bit like my Audi's.

Where did they come from?
