Just booked first trackday at keevil.Any advice on tyre pressures would be appreciated.Am I also right to think oil level should be kept on the higher side and not to let fuel drop belo 1/4 tank?

Whilst we are on the tyre subject.....

I have found 265.30.18 rear PZero Corsa directional 2 but they don't seem to come in the front 225.40 size.

They seem at first glance to be more sociable to live with, less noisy and last longer than pilots sport cups. And still likely very good on track and road.

My P Zero rossos are not good enough. Despite being nowhere near worn out it may be time for a change.

Thoughts anyone?

I currently run 18psi front and 22-24 rear.

Should be 265.35.18 for the rears, or will the lower profile also fit?
I've just changed my P-Zero Rossos for normal P-Zeros for my road rims. Waiting to try them out.

Jarcy - i meant 265/35, that is what I found, must have typed 30 instead on here for some reason. But can't find the fronts.

Simon - I thought rocket or someone had issues with the Trofeos? But the Corsas as well, eh?
Fair enough. Are the Cup 2's really brilliant? Any downsides?

Just feel my Rossos have gone a bit hard due to lack of use and being 2 years old so the car understeers way more than it used to.

Maybe the P zeros might be the best all round choice.

Was about to post on the subject of tyres myself, on what is considered a good comprimise between road use and track use. Obviously another set of wheels with dedicated track tyres would be the way to go if I start to get seriously into track days, but for now the best comprimise is what I'm looking for. Peoples thoughts would be much appreciated. Cheers, Rob

I've always kept away from Pirellis on road cars because they're hard and I find I can't get heat into them without behaving like a tt. I admit I don't know about current or recent models but I've found Pzeros of various flavours try to kill me.

4 brand new P zeros ready to fit on the car, and less than £500.

I used Tyre Leader. They're also the cheapest I can find for Michelin Cups so about to order a set for my track tyres.

Any other good sources for Cups?

Trofeos not Corsas. I still use the original Trofeos (not the modified Rs), but then again I don't eat quite so many XXLburgers as Rocket! smile

Jarcy - they look perfect. I'll take them. £400? wink

So has no one tried the new pirelli pzero corsa asimmetrico 2? They seem to sound like the best thing this side of Cup 2's.

Although, would prefer the new Trofeo R's but they don't come in our size!

Not convinced on Cup 2's as they sound harsh (for London driving - speed ramp city!) and noisy.

Trofeo R not an option, Corsas above only come in rear size.

So P Zeros may have to do.

P.s. Tuxman, have you got Cup 2's on your trailer? (Sounds like it does a lot of miles!)
