Doing a speed run at Bournemouth wheels. Went to brake, started to squirrel, released and they didn't release. Started to pump them and wouldn't release. Managed to slow it with the hand brake and only cracked my splitter on the barrier. Bloody scary. Anyone else had this happen? After stopping I had to really give it some revs to get the front left to pop off.

Has the car been standing or in storage for some time?

Had been at bespoke for about 2 months. However I had made sure I had re bed in the brakes and given it a good run in before the event. Did around 200 miles.

My money is that brakes sticking on is a sign of car being stored or not used for some time, I would be stripping the callipers and replacing\polishing the pistons and new seals. I am surprised the hand brake stopped it.

There where skid marks inside and out! I started braking just over the top of the hill. The caliper just seized on The lock up was when I started panicking, had the handbrake on at this point. Only damage was a cracked splitter anybody got one hanging around?

The kids went to this today and told me my old car was on display in the BIC.

Nice to know the old girl is in good hands. If the current owner (sorry cant remember name) reads this I would love for you to take me for a spin one day for old times sake.

Cool. What would you say your top speed was there?

You should have probably bled the brakes, when I fitted new pads and bled them after winter there was a lot of rust and crap came out the system.

Doing fresh pads again tomorrow and expect the same to happen again, my RS29's are kaput after 3 months, 10 races and a few practice/track days.

Getting close to a ton but not over. They call them speed runs but really people just want noise and tyre smoke!
