I had it on my previous 3R.
Loved the filters on the bulk head, but with the BOV as well it was too much, and spoilt the purity of whooshes,ad it was also harder to define the two whooshes from the filters (if that makes sense) as due to the noise of the BOV the two seemed joined up.It seemed to lose a bit of character.
To my mind from a noise perspective )the original bulkhead filters are best, next best the BOV but with the filters in the bay,and then the third is the set-up you're suggesting with filters on the bulkhead and a BOV. IF it helps, the guy who bought the car from me hated the set-up and took the BOV off, something I was going to do if I kept it ( My bloody fault for doing it in the first place though!)
Purely personal choice.

Mines a forge, but I don't know what spring sorry.
I get two distinct whooshes from mine, no idea why. It sounds like there is Two blow off valves

My M12 is strictlty street driven and does not have a Blow off valve,do you guys use a BOV on strictly street driven cars?
I have heard pro's and cons to a BOV.
Since I am getting the hard pipe kit,I am wondering if I should get the fitting for a BOV or leave it without.

Mines a road car yes.

Why don't you get the fitting anyway, then you have the choice.

I'd rather not have it so it can't break again.

You don't need them unless you like the noise.

Matt - the two whoosh noises are probably just the waste gates opening to dump the pressure down the exhaust rather than the BOV. The BOV makes a higher pitched chirp

There are no mechanical cons to a BOVs. There are some pro's in caring for your turbo, although we could debate all day how large these pros are, it will help prolong the life of your turbos theoretically for an average driver. I have a forge BOV with filters up front. If you add the BOV towards the back the car you hear it less.

Q: Where does the pipe go from the end of the Forge BOV? I thought it was just an atmospheric valve?

If Forge or PA offered a bung for the boss then I'd agree.

i've gone from the hoover hoses with filters up front ( which i really liked the noise and whooshes /chatter etc and it wasn't too obtrusive to a same hard pipe kit and a bov and i'm now getting a very high pitched whistle noise from the drivers side ( when on boost and lifting off ) which is quite piercing and annoying and beginning to get on my t**s ... is this normal ? Could it be the addition of the bov or is purely because of the hard pipe ?

Hard pipes make a massive difference to the noise when at the bulk head.

I recently went from bulkhead hoover hoses to pro alloy ones.

I'm not sure about volume, but the noise is a bit different for the better, coming off the throttle at 1bar sounds awesome.

I have the pro alloy hard pipes with the filters on the bulkhead. Also a BOV that recircs in to the inlet pipes.

It does make some strange noises, but no high pitched whistle that would get on your tits.

Sounds more like a boost leak after the turbo?
