i would like to see some larger scoops made - in theory you could go the full height of the door
i know a guy who builds fibreglass panels for a living
if i can get enough people interested then i can get some made up
Gadge if the scoops were massive but only have a small hole cut in the clam this would be like a bottle neck and loads of drag.i know a guy who builds fibreglass panels for a living

Biggest problem with making new side pods is the mould cost , I have had 2 quotes this week £800 and £850 just to built the moulds !!!!! Take into account them getting them made as the price becomes unrealistic .
Biggest problem is the rolled front lip on the front edge of the scoop , add to that getting it to fit the body correctly and it's a big project !! I think the std noble ones at £106 each is a good price and they do fit the body well , they also look right on the car something that's very important .

I have a pair of these to fit also, what have you guys done regarding the mesh? Have you cut the body away to tuck in the mesh like the m400 or butted them up to the body? I think I'll copy what grant has done and shape them to the body and fit a u shape rubber strip to finish it off.

I did side pods for the Ultima recently (grahams) almost exactly the same as M400 ones and they were one piece and cost me around £50 in mould materials and 5hrs labour!Biggest problem is the rolled front lip on the front edge of the scoop , add to that getting it to fit the body correctly and it's a big project !! the rolled lip at the front doesnt need to be an issue...
Regarding design, I don't think wider ones will be any use at all and will just add drag... you need to do other mods to get air flow through the side pods, and once you do get air flowing you wont even need scoops let alone bigger ones IMO

Basically the larger scoop will increase the pressure behind the hole and more air will pass through. A bit like a funnel
I suspect most owners will cut the hole out for more flow effect
I dont think they will... my view is they may totally stall at speed and have almost zero airflowing through unless you have done mods to get air out of the engine bay first.I suspect most owners will cut the hole out for more flow effect
the tunnel mod will provide more airflow into the engine bay... and costs nothing and doesn't add drag
