Reading the comments it's a Porsche 935K3. 3200cc twin turbo 830hp.

The Capri is only 1426 cc and 520hp.

Great racing.

Considering the car was built in the 70s I thought it was a boost control or ignition timing

520hp out of 1426cc lick

If that power per litre was applied to a (stanbdard) Nob we'd be looking at 1095hp (assuming I've done my maths (math) right. smokin

good find

"As a footnote, a special short-stroke evolution of the Capri Turbo engine (used from 1981 in certain races) formed the basis for Zakspeed's Formula 1 project when the team made their entry into the Grand Prix world as a chassis/engine constructor in 1985.

Thats not that far off what people are getting out of turbocharged Busa Engine these days. Although i bet the power made by the capri was on some special fuel! smile

Have you seen the size of the intwercooler they used? They are massive! And verrtical flow so there would be naff all restriction in them.

Chris.

I thought the 1.5 F1 engine to have was the BMW followed by the Honda

Good find, enjoyed watching that. Brought back some old memorys.
Seem to forget how mad the cars where in the 80s. 800 bhp was not an uncommon number, shame there was no sign of the old lancia martini car, great era for madness.
