Breather pipe advice - 3R
Discussion
I'm still investigating my pre-christmas break down, but on my search I discovered a small film of oil that looked as though it has been 'sprayed' whilst on boost. I thought it would be a good idea to check the breather hoses weren't blocked, so I removed the pipe that joins the rocker covers and the pro alloy catch tank. First I discovered the very top of the front rocker cover outlet(where it is flaired) was inside the pipe, and then I discovered the elbow that heads off between the heads looks squashed - I'm guessing this isn't normal?
Squashed end...

Good end...

Complete Pipe...

there are some numbers on the insulation: YL8E-6K817-FB M536F >PA6<
It doesn't look as though the pipe will return to its orignal position and its been like that for a long time, I'm thinking I could try and sleeve it internally to hold its shape? any other ideas or suggests for a replacement? (I haven't looked for the part numbers yet).
Thanks,
Mat

Mine was the same when i stripped it out , i managed to heat it up and push it back into shape then sleeve it with a piece os 15mm copper tube to stop it crushing again .
Mayonaise is pretty normal this time of year , are you still using the std Noble breather tank ? if so these are rubbish !!!! made if steel and they rust badly inside , this contanimates the oil and ends up back in the sump .would recommend a change to a alloy tank and a good clean of the breather system .

I'm not too worried about the mayo yet, all of my previous cars have had it, probably because I only ever really do short journeys. I have checked for oil in the header tank, dipstick etc. thinking the worse after my breakdown.
I've blown out the breather pipes, and will try to reform the pipe (thanks Tux) before trying to source a replacement.
The relays on the bulk head all looked fine, but I will clean them up and reseat them again. The only thing I did notice was the fuse box cover for the 4 fuses next to the ecu was missing - the fuse terminals looked 'ok' but again, probably worth a clean and a new holder/cover sourced.
