Air lock in Rad

I keep on getting an air lock in the rad, i noticed that the fans were coming on a bit too quick after stopping, so i removed top pipe off rad and it was airlocked, so i topped up the header tank waited until the air had all come out of the top of the rad...
... but the same happened again, and again there was air locked in the top of the rad, so i repeated same process, i have done this approx 6 times now over a period of 2 weeks and every time i check there is air trapped top of rad again!! the car is not overheating and the fans are not coming on while driving, there are no coolant leaks or pressure leaks, but the system is obviously run running optimally due to these blasted air locks... and its annoying me.
Apart from the obvious one which is that i had a big air lock which is slowly finding its way out, are there any other things that could be going on or that i should check for or any other explanation??

Cheers Mike, but I did wait until water flowed out of top of rad thats what im saying, i removed the airlock, but yet it keeps coming back...
i even tipped the car back to make sure any air would get forced to the highest point which again was top of rad, i waited until only water came out hence removing airlock again, but next time i check there was air trapped again, its just the same everytime, i remove the airlock and next time i check and take the top pipe off the rad air comes out again, only small ammounts probably equivalent to 1/2 litre of water...but still its stopping my cooling system from running optimally and i'm wondering what the explanation is..

Try a thorough purge and refill. The AirLift vacuum sucker thingie has always worked well for me. Drain the coolant using the front elbows (and the rear of the car raised suggestively). Then reconnect the hoses and use the AirLift to pull a vacuum on the system.
While the AirLift is working its magic, fill a big bucket with your favorite coolant mix and dunk the end of the AirLift refill hose in it. When max vac is reached, open the valve to the refill hose and the vacuum will suck coolant out of the bucket.
