Trackday costs/consumables M400 vs GT0 3R
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Am tentatively in the market for a M400 and im fairly confident its worth the premium over the 3R.
I will probably do 3-6 track days per year so track day costs are not a major factor- but I read elsewhere that the consumables- particularly the suspension costs of tracking a 400 are far lower than a 3R?
Is this true? Can anyone add any more info to this?
Thanks guys

If you buy a standard 3R you will most likely want to upgrade the suspension (as many others have done) £1000+ depending on make
If you buy a M400 you will love the handling and just re-furbish the very well ser up standard shocks when they need it. (as most M400 owners do) £480.
Either way both great cars, lots of fun on track!

Can't see why suspension cost should be higher on a 3 R compared to a M400 , the m400 is set up more for track use than Road use but basically uses the same damper just with stiffer springs , the main reason of buying a M400 is the forged internals in the engine , it suffers with the same basic faults as the 3R but there is no doubt the engine is stronger than the 3R .
Biggest problem is availability of M400 !! Best of luck finding one

If you are talking about standard cars the cost should be almost identical surely? you'll just be going faster in a m400 ( and therefore more fuel, more tyres, more brakes).
The only thing you might need on the 3R is an oil cooler added.
Modified cars is a totally different thing, the 5 to 10k premium of having a M400 would buy some very good improvements and potentially give you a better track car then the M400. The M400 should hold it's value better when you come to sell though..............Does anyone sell there M400?
sjc?
