Best general use - the easiest option would be to go with the factory Bridgestones? What do you have on the front? I don't like the idea of having different tyres front and back myself so that may have a bearing on it....

I'm considering moving to Eagle F1 GSD3's when my front bridgestones wear (3rd set of bridgestone rears now) as they are cheaper and I've used them on a few cars in the past and been amazed at how great they are in the wet. They always seems to beat the so-3s in tyre comparison tests as well.

Cheers

You might look into the new Michelin Pilot SP2s. In the US they may be a choice on the new M12s. I did some research and they seem to be considered better than the S03s on dry roads. US car magazines seem to think they are the best new tire.

I was at the factory last week. One of the guys said that the M400 Pirrellis (or however you spell it) are much better than the Bridgestones because the sidewalls don't flex as much. I am going for those when these wear out.

Unless someone can advise otherwise.

They will be better in the dry for sure, not sure about winter use though.....

I ended up with 2 sets of wheels, 1 with 048Rs (equiv of the corsas) on and 1 with the bridgestones.

Ash those Corsas are the equiv of AO48s on the Elise, but seem even softer when prodded with my nail. I wouldn't want to hit a puddle with them...

I don't intend driving her in the rain unless I get caught out.

Had A048s on the Elise and managed, just, when wet.

Had a few moments in the wet in the Elise.

That was done on the Gumball hitting a pothole at 70mph, pot hole was deeper, wider and longer than the Elise.

L5 has just smashed the 135r, have a look at the bbs.

Going to call him today to make sure he is ok.

Yeah I just saw on the other bbs =/

I've done a load of driver training, and I have to say that the one thing its shown me is that my chances of catching a car sliding if I'm not ready for it are still effectively zero.

Does that mean that when I was in your Lotus with you at North Weald the only reason we did a 360 when trying to do a 90mph left turn was because you weren't expecting it to slide?

Martin.

Dan knows it's meant in jest, he knows he's a good driver so I'm sure he won't take offence. (Besides, I can't talk 'coz I did a 720 in Andy Glovers Noble!) M.
