Anyone done this yet and if so, did you get a performance increase?

Mr J. Was that done at Roush (says Phil scratching his chin and thinking they're only 2 miles down the road)?

Is there any real knowledge about what the engine is good for before having to go to forged pistons etc? I was under the impression the M400 has them and a wilder cam?

Yes and no. Lots of work was done on the Dyno @ JNM to get it done. It's available as the official 2.5l upgrade from the factory.

You get conflicting answers depending on where you look as to what the engine has done to it.

Certainly though if you want to go much over what's there you'll need to change things.

Although if you need inspiration have a look at what these crazy people do (www.msprotege.com/vbb225/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=47) - the 3L V6 is also used in the Mazda 6 so you can compare notes.

The reviews on the 1G Racing website give some of the "game away" but you can't be sure if that is just jurno hyperbola.

Just spken to a rolling road company.

Said "will not be able to do anything to increase performance because of the ECU"

Oh well.

More like they don't have a clue how to map the MBE.

Ash

I've had discussions with a tuning company re performance upgrades for my 2.5L car - they are a well known ScoobyEVO tuner - Once they have had some time with the car i'll report back what scope they think there is, if any.
