Hi All,

Am planning to venture up to Croft next month and just wondered how much tyre wear I can expect if driving the smooth racing line (hopefully!).

I've gone thru 2 sets in a day in a 5 turbo & also with an Evo but my Elise never suffered at all and in fact was still going strong after 12k miles and a couple of track days.

The Noble has potenza SO3's on, are they a relatively hard compound?

If you don't slide it they will last quite a long time.

The problem is that the Noble is sooooo muuucccchhhh fuuuunnnnnnnn when sliding you won't be able to resist.

I go through a set of SO3's every 3-4 trackdays, and as people will testify, I'm not exactly a "non-sliding" driver when on track

Hi Blot,

I'm booking up for the 19th September at Croft. It would be good to have another Noble there to discuss......tyre wear.......local pubs.......local lasses....etc etc.

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian,

Who is the 19th with, is it one of Croft's own? I'm going up on 4th or 5th which I think is a RS Owners day (but taking little track weapon and noble) but am always happy for an excuse to go to Croft anytime!

Would be good to meet there, are you based up North? I've only ever seen one other Noble in N.Yorks and that parked outside our house for a big wedding in the village a month or so back, had Le Mans04 sticker in windscreen, anyone on here??

So hopefully tyres will last more than one day, that's good news

The 19th is Croft's own. I am booking (block) with some other North East PHd's so there will be some good local crack going on. Also check the threads on the North East PH site.

I live just outside of Newcastle upon tyne and have owned my 3R since October last year. I love it.

Hope to see you at Croft on the 19th.

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian,

See you there, as long as car is ready, it's off back to Barwell in September for servicing and am due to collect it that Friday.

Fingers crossed

If you drive like Justin the tyres will be toasted 15 minutes before you get to the track.
